"This hotel is in a great location for exploring the area. Canal walk, aqueduct and tunnel all within walking distance. Enough choice for places to eat right on the doorstep.
Hotel was clean, and our room had everything we needed (apart from a hairdryer!). Good value for money too. Would recommend."

"Very new, lovely hosts absolutely dog friendly, our dog had his own breakfast everyday! It is rural, so sometimes internet glitches, but we were there over a stormy weekend and the electric substation across the road blew up. Power was back on very quickly."

"We had the best stay! Our room was lovely and cosy and the property itself has been beautifully renovated. Breakfast each morning was wonderful and we very much look forward to staying here again."

The breakfast was really good as were the evening menu choices. In the room, the guide understated the amenities. It was modest about the WIFI capabilities which I thought were actually very good. Similarly, there was a reference to decaffeinated coffee being available for the room on request but it was actually already there.

Small family run friendly hotel with excellent facilities for a small establishment. Lovely part of the country with access to towns not too far away and Welsh mountains close by.

Brilliant Pub, Amazing staff and Stunning Surroundings.
We only stayed for 2 nights but would of loved to stay longer. Staff were attentive and welcoming. We were very impressed by our room which was extremely spacious with a large shower room and even a sauna in the room. Our Bed was so comfy and the pub was full of friendly locals. We were slightly worried when we arrived as there was limited parking spaces for the hotel itself however immediately next door was a huge public carpark which was...

Absolutely amazing.
In terms of value for money why on earth would anyone go for a hotel when you have the option of Tedmore?! I never once felt like I was in a hotel whilst staying here, it genuinely did feel like a home away from home.
Spotlessly clean, beautiful location and amazing value for money! Cannot wait to visit again soon.

Brown Hill Bed and Breakfast offers a truly enchanting experience, reminiscent of an idyllic escape into nature. The highlight of this charming retreat is undoubtedly its garden, which is nothing short of a whimsical paradise. The garden is meticulously landscaped, featuring a variety of vibrant flowers, lush greenery, and picturesque pathways that weave through the grounds.

I can't recommend Hawkstone Hall highly enough. The location is just stunning, as is the house. Yet despite the grandeur of the place, I never felt anything but totally at ease.
The food was easily some of the best I've had, but if I had to choose one thing that really stood out about Hawkstone Hall it was the fact that every member of their staff was an absolute delight.

What a lucky find. Situated in a beautiful area of the Welsh countryside.
Stayed overnight weather was awful but the property was cosy and kept to a very high standard. Breakfast was freshly made & very tasty.
A big thank you to the hosts Heather & Neil who made us feel welcome. Will definitely be returning.

Was a pleasure staying at Hawkstone Park Hotel. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming, only thing was the parking. Seemed like the people coming to play golf were parking in the hotel car park. But other than that it was a nice place to stay

The best area to stay in Colemere is around Colemere Lake itself, particularly the northern and eastern shores, for a truly tranquil and picturesque experience.
This area is the heart of Colemere, offering direct access to the lake with its walking paths and stunning views. You'll find a scattering of charming guesthouses and a few more secluded luxury lodges located amongst the trees, providing a peaceful escape. The main activities here revolve around the natural beauty of the lake and its surrounding woodlands.
Couples looking for a romantic and secluded getaway will find this area perfect. Imagine waking up to lake views, enjoying leisurely strolls along the water's edge, and perhaps a boat trip. The focus here is on relaxation and enjoying nature together, with opportunities for birdwatching or simply unwinding in a beautiful setting.
For families, staying slightly further east, in the hamlet just beyond the main lake access, offers a good balance. You're still within easy reach of the lake's activities but might find accommodation with more space or amenities suitable for children, such as larger gardens.
When is the best time to go to Colemere?
The best time to visit Colemere is during the late spring and summer months, specifically from May to September, when the weather is at its most pleasant.
During these months, you'll find the warmest temperatures and the most sunshine, great for enjoying the outdoor activities Colemere is known for. This period is ideal for exploring the mere itself, whether you're interested in boating, fishing, or simply walking along the waterside paths. The local gardens and nature reserves are also in full bloom, offering beautiful scenery.
Families with children often find the summer holidays (July and August) particularly appealing. The longer daylight hours mean more time for outdoor adventures, and many local attractions offer special events and activities geared towards younger visitors. It's a great time for picnics by the water or exploring the nearby woodlands.
Couples looking for a peaceful escape might prefer the shoulder months of May, June, or September. The weather is still lovely, but there are generally fewer crowds, allowing for a more tranquil experience.
