"We were a party of 10, getting together to celebrate the 60th birthday party of 2 family members. The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together"

"We had a great stay at the Old Brewery Barn with our children (7 months and 2.5 years) and my husband's parents. The house was very well setup and clean, and was so thoughtfully setup with baby gear. Everything worked well and was comfortable and easy. The little village is adorable and makes access to the rest of the Lake District very easy. We would love to stay again sometime when we can enjoy the garden as well!"

Clear communication with hosts before and during our stay, they provided helpful information about the surrounding area and the welcome pack was much appreciated."

"Hired the main house + three cottages for a group 40th birthday party in mid Aug-22. As long as you understand that your little away from the main Lake District location, then this place is perfect. House / cottages were all kitted out with modern appliances, had a good number of ensuite bedrooms and were all spotlessly clean. I was initially a little skeptical about hiring a number of separate cottages (rather than another location with one big house) but it actually worked much better....

"Booked for my husband's 60th. Accommodated the eight of us and the dog beautifully. Each couple had their own bathroom although the one by the front door was not ensuite but this was not a problem for us.The sofa is huge and we were all able it sit/stretchout comfortably. The townhouse is fitted out to a high standard and is well equipped. The staff were extremely helpful and sorted an issue with the sky box straight away. Lisa in particular went the extra mile, answering questions and providing...

"Great house, looked brand new. Very light and airy, located in a complex with others. We took our grown up children and the bedrooms were great. The parking was a little tight for such a big property, but as it was early season we managed fine. Building more houses on site so suspect it may be noisy during the week, but it was closed at the weekend. Lovely little village pub that does food a stone's throw away and lots of nice walks"

"We stayed in October, a family of four and one grandparent. The property is spacious and well decorated. The location is great with some good walks from the doorstep and lots of good places to eat out within minutes in the car/ bit further on foot. (Can highly recommend Glenridding’s Beckside Bar and for a special meal, Glenridding Hotel). The kitchen was well equipped and a great heart to the cottage, unfortunately in the lounge there isn’t a smart TV, which came as a surprise and took away...

"Fantastic location & views. Very basic which let it down. Not great when you travelled 4hrs on the road & not find any milk in fridge for a cup of tea. Lovely shower but all the mould let it down (even the fake plant was covered in mould). Tiny bath towels and no blind on window,Hole in fence has not been fixed but some broken chairs put in front which didn't take my dogs long to figure out & no outside light in garden so i had to use my phone torch to make sure they did not escape at night....
