Paid £228 for one night bed and breakfast in the nightingale room which had a split room with the bedroom being on the mezzanine floor and a double Jacuzzi bath and a double balcony overlooking the via cappello street. Hotel very easy to find, bit of a scrabble through the tourists in the archway to get to the front of the hotel but once in we were blown away by the décor and the opulence and comfort of the room. Staff mega helpful and welcoming couldn't do enough for us, had good choice for breakfast which you left on a card outside your door and which was delivered at a time to suit you between 8am and 10.30 which was brilliant and really delicious, felt very decadent answering the door in the robes and slippers provided and watching the waiter lay out a table cloth and all the food from a trolley, really preferable to going down to a dining room this felt so much more exclusive and comfortable. Bed extremely comfortable, staff came in to close the shutters and blinds whilst we were out nice touch. Lovely having the courtyard to ourselves in the evening around 1am by the time we returned from the opera and my boyfriend proposed by the statue of Juliet and underneath the balcony, totally and utterly unforgettably romantic I burst into tears ha ha. Absolutely loved our stay cannot fault it and I'd originally thought the price was a tad expensive when I first booked but after our stay I thought it was extremely good value for what you got. highly recommend can't wait to return

"Central Hotel with Helpful and accommodating staff"
On arrival we were welcomed by friendly staff.
We booked a standard room which although was nice, the shower cubicle was very small (my husband is 6ft 5)!! We mentioned this at reception and by the next day (when another room was available) we were upgraded to a superior room (free of charge) with far better facilities and a roomy shower room.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
Hotel is situated in a perfect location for Verona (very central).
Superb hotel for visiting verona and for the opera

This hotel is a unique gem. It's full of interesting clutter, a pair of parrots in an Orangerie and beautiful things. The attention to detail in it's decoration is wonderful. We were provided with a suite complete with tiny balcony looking out on to the square below. The bathroom and fittings are all new and work properly,
Writing this review was at the top of our list post honeymoon vacation.
The Escalus hotel is Verona's very own gem and one of our favorite hotels during our honeymoon. Marco was on call to assist us as soon as we arrived, he was extremely hospitable and helpful, making us feel very welcome and even upgraded our room to a suite and offered us a bottle of Prosecco on the house. His restaurant recommendations were well thought out and just what we were looking for - Pretto gelato is must while visiting Verona.
The Escalus hotel is cozy and charming, it's not a typical hotel, the rooms are quite spacious filled with all the amenities your heart will desire; in fact they look more like apartments than hotel rooms which is great. The hotel serves breakfast in the rooms only - the deli meats, eggs and coffee were our favorite.

Tourists often explore the area on foot as cars are not allowed on many of the narrow streets, and walking is a convenient way to browse boutiques and stop at one of the many cafés. In the summer, visitors can attend the opera at Arena di Verona, the best preserved Roman amphitheatre. Shakespeare fans and romantics alike can recreate the famous balcony scene at Casa di Giulietta (Juliet's House).
