A beautifully presented Cotswold period home, Hope Cottage is an ideal base for walking and cycling enthusiasts. Take in the fine Cotswold villages, stroll across to the local pub, enjoy a taste of rural life.
Hope Cottage is quintessentially Cotswolds through and through; effortlessly combining cosy and characterful with contemporary and fresh. Perfect for a family holiday or gathering of friends; the spacious dining kitchen is the real heart of the home, with plenty of storage, granite tops and high-end appliances, complemented by a large rustic dining table for everyone to gather around, a charming snug providing a second comfy sitting area, and french doors flooding the room with light and spilling out onto the pretty raised terrace. A useful boot room doubles up as a utility area, complete with a second butler's sink and a washer/dryer.
The welcoming sitting room offers a bright and peaceful space to relax by the wood burning stove and enjoys the same period features, oak latch doors, exposed beams and Cotswold stone walls found throughout this pretty cottage. Stairs lead from the sitting room up to the three spacious bedrooms, where a choice of the principle room with a king-size bed and en-suite, or two charming twin bedrooms sharing the family bathroom await.
Outside, the raised terrace is furnished with a dining set and charcoal barbecue, and looks out to the lovely walled garden, bordered with mature planting, topiary and surrounded by trees and countryside.
Hope Cottage is an ideal base for walking and cycling enthusiasts with endless trails to explore and enjoy the nearby fine Cotswold villages. Or for the less energetic, stroll across to the local pub, The Keeper's Arms, a proper pub where delicious home cooked meals and great local ales are served.
Set on the edge of Quenington in the Coln Valley, the delightful village of Coln St Aldwyns is just over a mile away with a fabulous community run village shop, post office and cafe. Just a few miles further is picture postcard Bibury, described by William Morris as "the most beautiful village in England" and set amidst rolling countryside with the river Colne running through it; also home Arlington Row, considered by many to be the most beautiful and photographed cottages in the country. Here you can also find the riverside dining destination of the Swan Hotel and the Bibury Trout Farm.
