Convenient for my needs

Posted 27-Jan-2017
Pros: Warm comfortable room
Cons: Access for breakfast
Booked to be close to a business commitment and it served me well. Only downside was the different building for meals - not ideal at this time of year. But tasty bar snack and good range of tasty food for breakfast.

Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the pool and sauna facilities.

Location: Close to Watford for shopping.

Had to cover WC SEAT WITH LOO ROLL......

Posted 29-Oct-2016 on Hotels
Used as stopover before flight..... Having checked in at reception in the main building, had to make my way back through the car park to an annex located around 200 from main hotel. Rather disappointing for a large hotel chain, the room could have done with a deep clean from dust, and were no protectors on pillows. Most importantly and quite disgusting the toilet seat had the remnants of the previous occupier still SMEARED to the back of the seat, urine stains to underside and a dirty build up to hinge area of seat....... forgot to take photos....

Secluded country hotel. Kids loved the pool.

Posted 27-Oct-2016
Location: In countryside 1 mile outside Chesham. Good Base for North London and Beds. 50 mins to Central London from Chesham tube station (Metropolitan).
Stayed 2 nights at good value promo rate. (Avoided attractive but pricey £15 cooked breakfast to keep cost and waistlines down). Standard room quiet, adequate size, warm and well fitted though bathroom quite pokey (about 2m by 1.5m). Grounds spacious and immaculate. Pool and sauna close by with towels supplied. 10 min drive or Uber to Chesham shops and restaurants. Staff very friendly.

Great rural location and about to be refurbished.

Posted 16-Oct-2016
Pros: Location and proximity to attractions and activities in the area.
Cons: The omelette!
A real mix of old and new in this a very pretty rural location. The historic house has an interesting history while the valley it overlooks was designed by Capability Brown. Interesting history especially it's role in the second World War. The newer sections of the centre are fairly typical of a modern conference centre and that's very much what it is. Leisure centre, meeting rooms, long corridors set out in various buildings but it works well. There is a major refurbishment underway and certainly parts of the hotel are looking somewhat tired. Staff were helpful and as we used to live in the area we know our way around anyway but it could be tricky if you didn't know the area. We ate at The Bricklayers Arms in Flaunden (abound 2miles away) which was excellent. Breakfast was inevitably a buffet although offering also omelettes, however mine was burnt and lacking the ham I had ordered so I would stick with the buffet!
