Overpriced food and drinks

Posted 05-Sep-2016
Staff are friendly and on arrival welcomed us. The room was very average and had a terrible mouldy smell so I had to use my perfume to make it smell better. The bed was rock hard and so was the pillows. At 3am I finally gave up and went downstairs to get softer pillows and slept on the sofa bed with my son, which was comfy. The breakfast was lovely. However we had a meal one night there and the prices were absolutely rediculas!! A total rip off!!! Nearly £6 for the tiniest bit of standard cheese cake, I've ever seen!! The prices left a horrible taste in my mouth... And for that reason I will not stay there again. There was one member of staff that stood out however. He was a man in his 50,s, grey hair. Looked like he was a cleaner or Maintance. He was soooo helpful when we asked him about things to do and eat in Cardiff. He got us a map and nothing was too much trouble. Thumbs up xxx

Thanks

Thanks for a clean hotel, it would be better if the front desk staff be a little bit friendly. With the price we paid, room has no iron is disappointing.

The bed was terrible

Posted 30-Aug-2016
Pros: The staff and food
Cons: The bed needed to be replaced
Location: Barry island
The bed had no support and we continually rolled in to the centre of it. The rest of the stay was good the glaring was brilliant didn't hear a thing from the airport. The food the night time was excellent the hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and very afficiant

Close to the airport and trains

Posted 23-Aug-2016
the hotel is getting old. Time for new mattresses and fix up the lobby. Excellent staff and the food is good. Walk to the airport or take a short bus ride to the trains or airport.

Excellent Staff

Posted 23-Aug-2016
Pros: the staff, the food is good enough, location to the airport, the price
Cons: it is time for a redo
This is my 6th stay in about 4 years. Really what has changed is the rough condition of the hotel. Chipped and stained furniture, leaky plumbing, and saggy beds point to a hotel due or overdue for a reno.

Cons: Booking system
Unfortunately I can not really rate this hotel as we did not get to stay in it. I mistakenly booked it for the wrong night as I failed to notice that the dates on your website had reset themselves when I returned to it to book, having previously looked at it a few minutes earlier . Perhaps this is something you may wish to look at.? Any chance of a refund? When we did arrive they had no rooms available, but were helpful in finding a nearby motel with one free room.

Comfortable Cardiff Airport Stay

Overnight stay for business. Perfectly comfortable. Nothing like a luxury hotel, of course, but workable enough.
