Unfortunately, our room had two outside walls one was on the outside dining area, and the other was on the pool area. It was not peaceful nor private. Load shedding was unfortunately terrible and we got no sleep due to the fact that this hotel does not have A generator and the air conditioning was out for several hours during sleeping hours. I found it very strange that you would have to walk through the dining room and the outside dining area to get to the pool. Everything was very tight and awkward.

Coopmanhuijs was a wonderful location for our stay. The staff was phenomenal and willing to help with any of our needs. We had breakfast every morning and the food was excellent. All of downtown Stellenbosch was easily walkable and safe from the hotel. My room was very comfortable with an amazing bathroom with heated floors. The hotel also has a backup generator so load shedding is never an issue.

Cute period hotel, central, nice room and great bathroom. Some confusion at check-in with parking - circled several times, but is actually valet parking in a nearby garage facility, so bags in car not accessible as planned - also not comfortable with valet parking during COVID (suggest needs some thought)! Would have appreciated advance notification of impact of planned electricity blackouts: annoying to not charge appliances, use hairdryer etc as planned - how were we to know about blackouts? Grateful to drop bags early, before check-in time, so we could explore.

Fabulous hotel in central Stellenbosch
A small extension to our holiday so we chose Coopmanhuijs and it did not disappoint. A lovely room overlooking the pool, extremely clean and the service was fabulous & friendly. Highly recommend both the hotel & Helena’s Restaurant.

It’s a boutique hotel so the rooms, reception and pool area are not large. The staff are courteous and helpful and the location is fantastic - right in the middle of town with restaurants, bars, galleries and shops on the doorstep.

rooms that are so noisy and situated near dining areas/ next door restaurant kitchens and should not be allowed to be used as guest rooms. find another place until they learn to allocate rooms appropriately. it would be more suitable to not have guests in the noisy rooms and just make their commercial sales from their restaurant.

Continues to be amazing!
This is my fourth stay at this hotel over the years and I will continue coming back. It is a beautifully appointed space in a fantastic area of Stellenbosh. The service is impeccable and I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. One of the best I've ever stayed in!

Coopmanhuijs: more than a home away from home
We decided to celebrate 15 years of marriage by spending the night in Stellenbosch- Coopmanhuijs! Would use it as a base and then go to dinner to one Stellenbosch's fantastic restaurants. We were delighted by Coopmanhuijs from our arrival. Valley parking , efficient reception and just a very warm and professional feeling all around. Room was lovely, met some friends for a glass of bubbly and eventually had dinner at Helena's. Only problem: our stay was way to short!! Will most definitely be back.
