The room we stayed in was clean. The view we had was of a brick wall! The bed was comfortable however the room/ hotel was far too warm. The bathroom was ok however the shower was poor not much more than a dribble. The public areas were decent,however the rest of the hotel was tired and in need of a substantial upgrade and modernisation

Breakfast was excellent, although no toast available. Room was by a fire exit with litter down the side and noisy overflow pipe. Grounds, parking great and staff efficient and friendly.

We needed to move rooms because ours was full of dust all over the wallpaper and the curtains which set my husbands asthma off. We were moved to a room with a cold shower. We weren't informed that the policy had changed and the spa was no longer included in the stay. The only positive from our stay was that all the staff were friendly.

it could do with a bit off freshing up but it clean has all you need and the staff are great good size car park very tidy grounds breakfast is got and served from 07:00 and yes I would be very happy to stay there again

Comfy and welcoming

Lovely hotel. Easy to find, spacious carpark, the entrance stairs/area are fantastic very welcoming. The room was comfortable with plenty of space. The staff were lovely and friendly.

A grand place with very polite staff. Breakfast was very nice with many different options. Parking is easy and the leisure facilities were perfect for after work. The one evening meal I tried was very nice although the portion size was a little small for the price, the bar is a tad expensive also. Regardless I've booked another stay for work. Great place.

No towels in the room on arrival. Couldn’t call reception as no phone in the room so quite a trek up and down stairs to reception. Continental breakfast - no croissants, no fruit even though menu listed them. Arrived back from a day out to find bin emptied but nothing else had been done in the room. Very disappointed.

They have swimming that used to be in the price payed to use now they charge £5 to use All rooms to get to have a mountain of stairs with no lift to help disabled people some carpets in halls are terrible there dirty and trip able as not secured down. The room we were in was incredibly hot all times and so dusty unbelievable the breakfast wasn't worth the money I had cooked full English it was poor greasy did not taste fresh at all the amount that was given was enough for a young child in the dining area it looked like it needed a deep clean curtains were filthy the floor was filthy and sticky all grime everywhere wasn't worth the money. We also bought the dog and when booked they told us one price to then be told when we got there that it was double the price and we had to pay it instead of original price. Also it's no longer a lavinda hotel but notice that they were still addvitising that they still did the lavinda the whole hotel needs to be updated and deep cleaned and proper fitted carpets and a use of a lift not forgetting they need to restrain on how to cook a full english

The room was horrible dark and dated . The radiator was rusty the net curtains were dirty the paintwork all scratched . The shower gel was empty and the liquid soap was in a dirty dispenser the toilet role holder was broken and the sanitary bag holder was empty . On a plus side the bed and towels were clean . The chairs in the dining room are covered in stains .

Amazing team in beautiful building

Amazing staff from reception to restaurant and breakfast. Room was spacious and clean. Beautifully decorated for Christmas Really nice touch with free snacks as no view.

Disappointing stay

Lovely old historic building with lovely helpful staff but room hadn’t been cleaned properly (rubbish from previous guest on side of bed) and the view was very disappointing considering the property (see pic) I felt like I’ve been shoved in the basement. Doubt I go back here tbh
