"We picked this hotel for one night in York as it has secure parking on the premises (20$) and it is a very short walk into old town york. This was all as expected but i found that the hotel was tired looking. The mistake we made was taking the half board. There are so many nicer restaurants nearby that were enticing and the hotel's dining room lacked ambiance and the foid was very plain. Our room however was very comfortable and we were happy that we had upgraded to a river view."

"Staff were so helpful - any request was not a problem at all - to check in early, to leave my bags, to access my bags and put them back. When I first arrived, I paused while I figured out where my room was and a member of staff instantly noticed and showed me the right way. Room was very nice, had everything I needed such as an iron and separate shampoo and conditioner. Exceptionally good value for money, definitely recommend!"

"Staff are so welcoming and friendly. Very very helpful. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Just a 15 minute walk from the train station. A 10 minute walk to the Barbican theatre if you’re planning on a show. The location is clean and quiet with lots of places to eat and drink nearby"

"A bit of a maze to find rooms, including going outside to use external steps to some rooms. Clean room and helpful staff. The furniture in Reception was a little worse for wear and some of the paintwork could do with a touch up. The welcome cookie was excellent."

"Although I had apparently booked a standard room it was presented in a very high specification and was more spacious than its m2 rating would suggest. Staff were polished and highly professional at all levels. I knew the breakfast was highly rated but that was exceeded and the venue inspiring."
