For my purpose at a good location; somewhat cramped lobby; welcoming & efficient staff; impeccable, clean & comfortable room where everything works; QUIET during the night = well insulated structure; efficient elevators with unblemished appearances; prompt & pleasant farewell.
Room was nice and modern, small but all city hotels are small. Staff not overly friendly. Breakfast was horribly cold pancakes and sausage. Not free had to pay for it which is fine, but it was cold.
Parking was horrible, call around and reserve a spot in a parking garage.

Overall, I had a good experience. The woman at the front desk when I checked in was very friendly and eager to provide information. The room was small, but comfortable. It was clean, but the paint was scuffed in some places on the cabinets and lower walls.
The main downside: I was told that breakfast was included, and started at 7am. When I went down right at 7, the lights were still off and nothing was set up. I was told that the girl who sets it up wasn't there yet. This was frustrating since I had an early meeting and couldn't wait around to see when breakfast would actually be available. I suspect that the majority of their guests are not traveling for business, and can be more leisurely, but keep this in mind if you have to be anywhere early.

Negative: carpet is not cleaned/vacuumed during our stay for 5 days..need to improve room cleaness. Far from manhattan but still ok for budgeted traveler. Need to improve hotel staf hospitality.
Our family of four had the most wonderful experience on our 10 day holiday in New York. The staff, Alex, Caitlyn (the best of course :-) Osheen, Gia, Javier, Irene and Chris are the most friendliest and helpful people I have ever come across in any Hotel I have ever visited around the world. The rooms were very comfortable and stylish and were cleaned immaculate every day with fresh linen and towels. If there was anything you needed extra then the staff were always on hand to make sure your request was dealt with promptly and with a smile too!!
The breakfast is great and plenty of it and if you cant find a seat to sit down then just use your initiative instead of moaning as all New York Hotels are tight for space but we had no problems whatsoever.
Great location with the 'R' train subway just a minutes walk away and it only takes about 20 mins to get you into Manhattan. A supermarket in right next to the Hotel which is ideal for stocking up on anything you need at good prices too.
It was very sad to leave New York and even more so when we had to say goodbye to everyone at the Hotel who made our stay even more memorable. I would highly recommend The Best Western Plus Prospect Park Hotel in Brooklyn to anyone and everyone. I will definitely stay here again and would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all the staff for their excellent service they provided
