"Lovely hotel!"
We loved our stay at the Victoria. It's in easy walking distance of the main Canterbury shopping areas. The room was very big and spotlessly clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant was very big with lots of character and the food was amazing!! Overall a perfect stay :) I would definately stay again.

"Great location, clean room and kind staff"
What I didn't know when I was booking this place was that guests had to check in at a sister hotel which is about 10 minutes away on foot near the castle. There is no reception in this hotel. But the staff members at both hotels were very helpful and friendly. I got a lift to the Peregrine house from the check in and there were two breakfast options; continental breakfast at the Peregrine or cooked breakfast at the sister hotel. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

"Traditional hotel in central location"
Old style hotel, though understand renovations are due. Comfortable and clean, with bags of character. Very squeaky floors which could be a little annoying. Breakfast included and that was outstanding.

"Friendly and accessible"
Excellent location for walking down into Canterbury old town and up to the University of Kent. I would definitely stay here again when visiting my daughter at the University of Kent. There is also a very convenient bus stop if I had needed that. Tony was very friendly and offered maps and insights to my visit in Canterbury and about a day trip to Whitstable. He was also generous in letting me leave my suitcase before check in and after check out. The bed (in the Writers Room) was VERY comfortable and the shower had great hot water and pressure.

"Efficient staff"
I arrived early and was greeted by a very pleasant young man who dealt very efficiently with my check in . During my stay all the staff on the reception desk were very friendly and helpful. The room was situated at the back of the hotel and was nice and quiet. I have already booked this hotel for my sons graduation in July.

"Lovely hotel in the centre"
Lovely hotel right next to the High Street and Canterbury attractions. Very frienfly staff and great hotel facilieties (all toiletries, slippers, bathing robe, kettle, tea, coffee and even buisciits). The only thing my room lacked was a fridge. Breakfast was served in the hotel fine restaurant - delicious, freshly made and although it took a bit to arrive it was worth the wait. Lots of great restaurants, cafes and pubs. I recommend the mexican place Chichiminga or something like this - fantastic! Bit noisy if your neighbour likes to watch a tv loud but couldn't hear any street noise. I would stay there again!
