"Very large and well appointed room. Nice breakfast (although kitchen add-ons can take a while), and really nice restaurant. The grounds are very scenic too."

The Hotel is a 15 century house which has been sympathetically restored retaining many of the original features. The bedrooms in the main house were charming, very clean with a very fresh en suite and lovely white bed linen and towels. There is an award winning restaurant which produced mouth-watering meals with a menu to suit most palates. What made the stay memorable were the very friendly, helpful and thoughtful staff. I would recommend this hotel to most people especially those with an...

We stayed two nights at the Bear in September and enjoyed it immensely. This is a ancient Coaching Inn and so layout is a little quirky. But the room was a good size and extremely comfortable. Large four poster bed, comfortable armchair, sufficient hanging space, a well appointed en suite and tea making facilities, made for a great stay. Breakfast was individually made and well cooked. We also are in the bar late on Sunday and the roast (topside of beef and all trimmings) was outstanding....

My first time staying here and I was very impressed, the venue itself is beautiful, the whole place including the grounds were very clean and tidy, the decor of the place was lovely and very imaginative.
My room was fantastic, very large, clean and had all the facilities. Dinner and breakfast were just perfect. I cant fault the place in any way, the staff were all very polite, perfect.

A little off the beaten track but accommodation was excellent. All staff were friendly and courteous. Room was spacious with a great shower. Pub below/next door had a good selection of real ales.

Stopped here for one night to see family in the local area and watch rugby match. Rooms nice, comfortable, various sizes and all double rooms. All en-suite bathrooms with baths in some with shower over and the smaller rooms with wall in shower only. Great variety of tea types in each room and fresh milk in flask provided. Food and drinks charged to room to pay at the end of the evening.
Evening meal was lovely and great portion sizes. Price reflected the quality and very much worth...

This B&B/restaurant is fantastic and I can not fault it at all! The rooms are spacious, clean, warm and comfortable with plenty of free tea/coffee. Andy who initially greeted me was pleasant and helpful, as I left before breakfast was served the following day he arranged for a packed breakfast to be made for me! this has not happened for me before at other hotels. The hotel is only a 15 minute drive from Cardiff Centre meaning it is easily accessible minus the noise and parking issues from the...

I booked this hotel at very short notice, due to visiting the area as a surprise to see my daughter.
On arrival the whole building was spotless, and after a short wait, I was greeted by the proprietor. The gentleman was extremely professional, happy, polite and gave the warmest of welcomes to his establishment.
He promptly booked me in and escorted me to my room. The room itself was immaculately kept and clean, it was also more spacious than what I expected and was tastefully decorated.

Sam and Annie are delightful hosts. The views are stunning, breakfast is top notch and the property is well located for the Tarka Trail and the restaurants in town

Fantastic overnight stay. Made to feel very welcome upon arrival by the owner who then took us to a great vantage point to take in the stunning views whilst giving us a brief bit of background history surrounding the building. We took our dog who was welcomed greatly. The staff on site were pleasant and polite and on hand to assist with anything we needed. Breakfast was great. Can't wait to return later on in the year.

there were 4 of us in the party that stayed at the hotel; my wife and I and our son and daughter, all were very impressed by the cleanliness and comfort that the rooms offered. The rooms were adjoining with a connecting door, which made it easy for us to spend more of the time together. Beds were very comfortable. Another good feature of the hotel, was the close proximity of a very good restaurant All in all we enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely stay there again.
