Hotel Beretta

10/10 Excellent

"Although I booked a partial lake view and did not receive that, everything was cool! I was told when I sent a message that it was not guaranteed (which I don’t get it!) but besides that, the hotel check-in was easy, staff was friendly & room was clean (had a few blemish $ however, did not effect me! Also, note; the shower is very small so keep in mind if on the heavy side! It’s just limited space to move around! Not sure how the other showers are but I had room #4 on 1st floor! Anywho, was very conveniently located! Would stay again, Ty!"

Grand Hotel Menaggio

8/10 Good

"Grand Hotel Menaggio — Stunning Views and Exceptional Breakfast, but Rooms Need Updating Grand Hotel Menaggio is a beautiful hotel with spectacular lake views and outstanding service. The breakfast was hands down the best of our entire two-week trip through Italy! The variety, quality, presentation, and attentive staff were absolutely exceptional. Unfortunately, the rooms didn’t quite live up to the rest of the experience. We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was certainly not one of the least expensive options, and expected more for the price. The beds, furniture, and decor felt outdated. Even the bathroom, although seemingly renovated, still had a tired appearance that made the room feel less fresh and inviting. Our balcony offered breathtaking views of Lake Como, which we absolutely loved. However, as beautiful as the scenery was, it didn’t fully compensate for the condition of the room. Overall, the hotel has so much going for it: stunning views, excellent hospitality, and an unforgettable breakfast. With some much-needed room updates, it could be truly exceptional. A lovely experience, but the accommodations need to better reflect the price."

Il Perlo Panorama

10/10 Excellent

"First of all, the staff at Il Perlo Panorma is exceptional. They were so accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. We arrived and had booked the Basic Room. It was ok, but since it was our 20 th anniversary, we asked about upgrading the room. The Junior Suite was available. They handle our room switch while we were away, moved our luggage and the Suite was amazing. We literally didn't want to leave the room. It had a huge balcony with stunning views of Bellagio and the lake, wonderful amenities, smart lighting to make it extra cozy, robes and slippers. It was the best upgrade. For those wanting to know about the shuttle service, they dropped off and picked up regularly and were also so accommodating with fast communication. I would highly suggest staying here. The restaurant was also delicious. Thank you for everything and making our stay so enjoyable."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Brenzio?

The best area to stay in Brenzio is the central part of the village, particularly around the church of San Biagio and the main piazza.

This area forms the heart of Brenzio, offering a traditional Italian village experience. You'll find a few local eateries and shops clustered around the piazza, and the narrow, winding streets are ideal for leisurely strolls. The elevated position of Brenzio provides lovely views of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains from many viewpoints.

For couples seeking a quiet and romantic escape, staying in the centre of Brenzio is perfect. The serene atmosphere, historic architecture, and picturesque views create a charming backdrop for a relaxing holiday.

When is the best time to go to Brenzio?

The best time to go to Brenzio is during late spring (May to early June) or early autumn (September to early October) to enjoy pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

During these shoulder seasons, the weather is typically mild and sunny, great for outdoor activities like hiking or exploring the local villages around Lake Como. You'll find the popular tourist spots less busy than in the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. Many of the local restaurants and shops are open, but without the intense demand of July and August.

For those who enjoy water sports and warmer temperatures, July and August are also good options, though you should expect more visitors and higher prices. The lake is at its warmest, making swimming and boat trips particularly appealing.
