"Beautifully proportioned and nicely decorated cottage. Garden enclosed. Kitchen well equipped. We would definitely come again. Lovely walks in the area. Alston lovely town. The outside bins were full when we arrived and so nowhere to put our rubbish. But owner said the cleaner would deal with it. Comfy beds and sofas and nice log burner. Thank you. "We had a lovely stay in this house. I'd read reviews that criticised the cleanliness of it, and I wonder why some people like to moan. (To get good cleaners in the Lake District is not the easiest thing.) We liked the house and garden. It was good that the owner had left everything we might need, washing up liquid, paper towels, numerous toilet rolls (of good quality), as well as cooking equipment etc. My son and I had fun lighting the log burner stove with the wood provided. "The cottage was wonderful. Perfect place for getting away from the rat race of everyday life. So quiet and tranquil and with dinner cooking in the Aga and the crackle from the wood burner you can just unwind. We will definitely revisit and highly recommend it to family and friends. "
