Lumley Castle Hotel

"Easy 20 minute walk from station. Beautiful property..grounds very well maintained. We were upgraded to a suite ..simply stunning . Staff were friendly . Only negative restaurant was underwhelming..a little disappointing tables very close to others was expecting something more medieval.. Food was average . Scone in the library lovely but it was served cold ! I would definitely recommend you you stay a night a l9cely experience"

"Staff lovely, nice room with everything you needed lovely choice of breakfast (pay extra) Bar/restaurant food was nice but bottle of Diet Coke very expensive I thought swimming pool was included in price and was disappointed you had to pay £7 per day which was expensive if you only wanted a swim"

Great North Hotel

"Quick , efficient and welcoming check in. Spacious car park Rooms are very clean and comfortable with aircon and a good range of , tea, coffee, biscuits etc. The breakfast was very good with a good variety of self serve and menu options. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel and despite being on a busy road the hotel is quiet. "

"We tried to sign in on line but the link didn't work. We had to complete the sign in which took ages. The screen form was certainly not user friendly. No address look up from a post code, didn't recognise England as a country, or UK or Great Britain. What a welcome to the hotel! Room was ok but no opening windows so it was like a sauna. There was a fan in the room. Breakfast was excellent made better by the attention given by Michael and Lorraine. If you need a bus Lorraine knows the best way to get from A to B."

"Had a lovely overnight stay with husband and 2 grandchildren. The room was very spacious, the kids had their own beds and it was quiet. We used the pool which was very nice. Breakfast was good. All staff we spoke to were very friendly."
