Have stayed here lots but disappointed this time as sink dirty (like someone had been sick in it) and shower door was broken and wouldn’t open. Also lift was out of order (this was the case last time we stayed too). Great location though.

Apart from a mini-fridge that was not working…everything else was great. The atmosphere in the lobby/restaurant for cocktail hour had a great vibe. The breakfasts were very tasty. Everything in the downtown area (shopping/canals) are all within a 15-20 min walk - so very accessible if you like to use your feet to get around. If we ever make it back to Birmingham…this is where we will want to stay.

Lovely room in a lovely hotel. Check in seemed great but discovered the next morning that the breakfast we believed to have been included was not, because we had booked through a third party Expedia: apparently this should have been clarified on arrival. The Receptionist also forgot to mention the lift was out of order and did not check we were able to manage all the stairs to the top of the building. That apart, everything was idyllic. It was great to have a drink on site in the lovely bar downstairs (very noisy there but the bedroom was well insulated with no disturbance.) The cocktails were really good and, like breakfast, very reasonably priced and overall we have had a lovely stay here. Thank you!

The place is really nice and friendly. The rooms are simple but well kept. The pillows are not very comfortable they are made of a material that feels like plastic. I found the price on the high side but Birmingham is an expensive place. Still I will go back.

The hotel looks lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. What lets it down (apart from the pillows, which are awful!) is the noise from the bar. This made it impossible to get an early night's sleep. At least it did quieten down after midnight. The breakfast was very tasty, which went some way to making up for a poor night's sleep.

Hotel was lovely and staff great only downside was that I booked breakfast for one as one of us had to leave early however I was charged for two breakfast which I didn’t realise til I received my receipt later on

Looked great on the photos. Other than the Bar area and downstairs - rest of the hotel was budget class. In addition the lift was out of order, the heating didn’t work and my colleagues and I all suffered the same on a night when it was -2/3 degrees. Coffee machine didn’t work - so all in all a poor experience. The positive - free parking outside until 8am and 2 small bottles of Prosecco and Orange Juice as complimentary.

Do not book this hotel at the weekend unless you enjoy trying to sleep above what sounds like a nightclub till 1am. No warnings when booking or checking in about potential noise. It literally sounded like the music was playing in our room on the 1st floor. At 1230am I went downstairs to talk to reception, to find the music blaring out, with no more than 7 people on the entire establishment. The receptionist called the duty manager over. Shockingly his first response wasn’t any sort of apology, it was ‘ you are aware we are a live venue at the weekends?’!!! I was not aware and was extremely disappointed as he tried to argue the point further. He refused to turn the very loud music down, even though the bar was almost empty. He finally apologised after discussing the issue for well over 5 minutes. We cancelled our second (Saturday) night as we couldn’t face another night of booming music coming through the floor of our room. The room was also not up to the standard we have experienced when we have stayed there previously. A LOT of black mould in the shower area, only one dressing gown for a room booked for two people. The manager gave us a discount for the night we stayed and a free breakfast the next morning, but it didn’t make up for the lack of sleep. Also as we had to find an alternate hotel for our second night stay, we paid through the nose for a different hotel as we booked on the day, so we were tired, annoyed, and out of pocket. We are extremely disappointed.

This was our second stay at St Pauls House and it didn’t disappoint. Gem of a hotel. Our superior deluxe double room was very comfortable. The Sunday lunch and breakfast was as excellent.

Nice for an overnight stay
Staff were really great and friendly. Room was ok nice and big with a free bar snd dressing gowns. Sadly the coffee machine didn’t work properly. The lift was out of order and the hall and landing needed a vacuum

The receptionist knew we got married anout week ago so when we arrived complimentary drinks in the mini bar a congratulations message card Nothing was too much trouble We hadnt booked table However we did stop for coffee and pastries the lady who served us was fabulous.

Good location
The room is spacious but the bathroom relatively small and only a double bed which wasn’t the most comfortable. Friendly staff, good bar but food from the kitchen slow.
