Firstly, the signage to get into the hotel was very poor and the parking was very difficult to find as no lights. The accommodation looked okay on first glance but it was very cold and even though we turned the radiators up high, it did not make any difference. The bed was fairly comfortable but the quilt was thin and as it was very cold in the room, it was a very uncomfortable nights sleep. There was no hot water so we did not bother with a shower. Also around 3am, you could very clearly hear noises in the room above us, with someone going to the toilet, the chain being flushed and then continuous walking on creaking floorboards. So fully awake from 3am!!. The carpet was very dirty and did not look like it had been hoovered and the bathroom had a large hole in the ceiling so unsure how safe this was. We decided to leave the accommodation about 4.30am and make our way home as we wanted to get back home. I cannot recommend this hotel

Excellent value for money at a beautiful countryside location, with easy parking. Room was clean, bed was comfi, and the shower worked really well. Breakfast was complimentary, with a variety of toasts, butter, jams, cheese, cereals, fruit, fresh juices and muffins. Both the receptionist and the other gentleman were really lovely and helpful. We arrived very early at the accommodation and the receptionist very kindly let us have the room early, so that we could get changed for our event. Very pleased.

Cheap and cheerful. Very soft bed. Road outside a tad noisy first thing in the morning but fine at night. Could be improved with some minor DIY in places. But would happily stay again.

On arrival ... we arrived quite late.. reception took us to our accommodation on request.. it was very dark and all he seemed to be interested in was having a cigarette. Room was of good standard in cleanliness and decor and lovely and warm. I would recommend again as it was good value for money, but left very early in the morning and was unable to have a wash as water was not warm

There was no one there to greet us when we arrived and was stood waiting for 5 minutes before someone came. There was no tv remote which we had to ask for. The bathroom had a awful smell of drainage. The smell was that strong it started coming into the room even with the door closed.

The property needs some additional TLC as well as cleaning in places, staff were helpful however there was a damp, permeating feel and smell to the room. Overall not horrendous just requires work.

Very pretty... then you look closer
At a glance, it's a pretty, if slightly run down, hotel. However, look closer and the issues become more obvious. The plugs were coming away from the wall. A pile of screws and a craft knife in the corner. Mould on the shower curtain. Toilet seat not actually attached. The fire alarm went off at 6am, but no staff could be found to marshal anyone - everyone that was standing in the garden, just went back in.

Check-in was quick, from what I understand there's only one person that is running the whole thing. Wasn't the friendliest but what to expect when he's the only one doing everything. The room smelt musty, and used shower gel bottles were left on our shower from the previous person staying in there. Didn't use the kettle or the cups as they didn't look like they were cleaned properly. The room overall could do with some TLC, looks nothing like the photos on the website. The plus is the location of the hotel, it's 30 minutes from Oxford town centre, 15 minutes to Blenheim Palace and only 7 minutes to Bicester Village. Oh, and the fire alarm went off at 5:59 one morning and we were all left out in the courtyard with no information. It then continued to go off most of the day. Thankfully we were heading out as I would have gone crazy. I feel that the rooms could do with a mini-fridge and an update. The lack of care is letting the place down.

I don't know where to start with this hotel. I booked for 2 nights but stayed for only 1 and that was because it was late and I couldn't not get another hotel in the area. From dirty unhygienic rooms, being bitten by either fleas or bedbugs, smell of weed, extremely noisy and more to list we was moved eventually from one room to another which was no better, still dirty, a dangerous bath/shower as it was higher then normal with no hand rail, uneven slippery floor and they have a sign requesting you use the bath/shower with the window open. Numerous complaints, linen room which was outside in the garden had the window open all night and a rat came out from the duvets near the window in the morning. Only 1 young staff member around and they conviently couldn't not get hold of the manager so I could get a refund. I waited for 3 hours early that morning to get hold of the manager who at 8am was apparently already in a meeting about the complaints about the hotel. I complained at 7am and it was around 5pm when another young member of staff finally issued me a refund. The manager still refusing to answer my calls about thier unhygienic hotel and member of staff at the hotel just uncaring about wasting my time and only issued my refund as I'm not from the UK and had a plane to catch the following morning. Would I recommend them, NO!!

We arrived at the 3pm check in time to be greeted by all the staff sitting around having something to eat. We were then told our room was not ready and to come back in an hour. When we came back there was noone to be seen at reception and we waited a good ten minutes until we saw anyone to ask. The only positives i can say about the room is it was large, clean and the bed was not uncomfortable. The rest was awful. The wardrobe was literally falling to bits, there were holes in the wall. The place was in complete disprepair. In the evening we went down to the bar for a drink and we were met by the staff sitting around drinking beer and then given a selection of about 2 cans of soft drink and told "the company arent supplying us with drinks anymore" so we paid £5 for 2 cans of diet coke and sat in the courtyard area. We then went back up to the room to sleep and had the worst nights sleep ever. The road noise was disturbing and inside the room you could hear every single noise in the hotel including presumably the staff (as we saw no other guests) making considerable noise until 3:30am! Would not stay here again and would definitely not recommend!!!

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at
Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The person on reception had zero customer service skills. Made no effort to make us feel welcome. Wouldn’t show any flexibility. Breakfast ended at 9.30 on a Sunday and was only continental anyway. Looked awful. Door knocked literally at 11am saying it was check out. The bathroom had empty bottles of shower gel, soap etc. The room had damp on the walls and the beds were cheap and uncomfortable. My advice, pay the extra money and stay at the Premier Inn down the road. That’s what I’ll be doing next time.

STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere,had the misfortune of staying here while working in the area,I don’t know what’s going on with the running of this place but the customer service is beyond bad,dare to ask anything and your snarled at by the gang of youths that seem to be running the place and if your unlucky enough to be staying in the main building then don’t expect much sleep as the staff spend the night running around slamming doors with no regard for any guests ,take no notice of the reviews saying this place is great as it’s on my list of places never to stay again

OK for our one-night stopover. The room was clean, adequate and comfortable but in need of a bit of TLC. We had to ask for an extra light as it was quite dim! The TV remote was missing. The one member of staff we saw was helpful and friendly, but seemed rushed off his feet.

The lock out !!😳
Lovely hotel , lad on reception working solo as all staff off sick . Really great lad but having to do everything !!! booked in at 3 pm arrived at 5pm room not ready went away to eat . Back at 8:30 pm room ready . Got locked out of room door slammed on myself and teen son ended up in court yard at 11pm , in PJs . No one on reception had to knock on a few doors !! Thank god Recas had not left for the evening!! No poster on reception who to call in emergency no precision in place if guests locked out . Thank you Recas for still being on site great lad !!! Poor managers look after your staff and guests Lovely room will stay again but be vigilant of door slamming !!

There were three meals advertised for the property and there was barely an acceptable breakfast; there was no lunch and no supper. The ground was so uneven that I felt wobbly going around the bedroom, to the bathroom and back again. There is no opportunity for food delivery - and there is no food on site. The rooms have no fridge to store your own food. The windows are so old that they creak even when closed. one of the windows did not have a blind to keep out the light at night-time. The hottest setting of the shower was barely 'hot' and there is no privacy as we are asked to keep the windows open throughout the shower, and the windows lead onto a road where the many high vehincles I saw driving by could see inside. The walls are paper thin and the other residents were constantly banging their doors throughout the evening. After the shower, the door is requested to remain shut and the windows open, for at least 15 minutes, so as not to set off the fire alarm?!?! Say what? The bed was nice, and there was a tiny kettle for one cup of tea or coffee at a time. All in all, a noisy, disappointing experience where I had to bring my own non-perishable food, or drive out to buy food. I suggest you give this one a miss.

First surprise i got when i had to take shower after 4 hour journey and hot water want working. I asked person duety ,insted of providing or doing arrangement for hot water staff on duety offered my drink which is ridiculous . Staff was very inexperienced and not profashonal. Had some dust mitts and awakenin middle of the night due to irrtation on legs. Probably beds and room need to spray some anti insect spray.

I found myself in a room which did not look anything like the photographs which appeared on the Expedia website. This is gross misrepresentation of the room in this hotel. If I knew this was the condition of the room I would not have stayed there. The photographs were taken clearly somewhere else. The place was run down. The toilet was unclean. The wall plaster had cracks all over it. I am totally disappointed. The staff did the best to accommodate me by moving to another room but I will not return to this establishment.

Spacious and good value.
Check in was ropey. Short staffing being the cause. The room was spacious but dingy and tired. However the bed was comfortable and the shower amazing. I was happy with cleanliness and tea coffee making facilities. Parking was across the road and ample. You have to use directions supplied as postcode sends you in the opposite direction. My room was close to the main road but the noise wasn’t an issue.

Our stay was a mixed bag, Nice quiet location and parking is great just over the road. Nice young man at reception who booked us in and serviced the bar, but he seemed to be the only staff member available and so nothing was cleared from the outside tables for most of the time of our stay. We had booked 2 suites as advertised back in February but on checking in were told there was only one available but they could give us a cosy double instead. Obviously this was not ideal and our friends decided to take this room. The young man made a call and told us that he would not charge for this room which for all of us was an adequate resolution to the issue. The rooms were fine and had all you needed however they are in need of some TLC as well as aircon. We were staying over a very warm period and the rooms were stifling. I always take a fan with me to put by the bed and the hotel had the larger kind in the rooms which was great but even with two fans it was extremely warm. I am aware that the hotel has changed hands recently and i am sure with some care and updating this place could be lovely. The addition of having a cooked breakfast would be an advantage as well as currently they only offer continental. We ended up at brewers fayre for breakfast which was fabulous and very reasonable.
