Lovely hotel but our room was very small. The bathroom was tiny, strictly one person at a time. We had 2 queen beds which were very comfortable but we struggled to fit our luggage in the room. We couldn't keep our bags opened & the wardrobe was very small. Get a room away from the lifts as we were kept awake all night with them gong up & down to the rooftop restaurant. No do it yourself laundry or pool. Hotel had an extremely small room service menu. It is one block back from the Main Street running along the top of cliff above the beach. Hard to access the beach if you have small children in strollers, as you need to walk all the way to the pier to access the beach. We hired push bikes from the hotel which were a great way to get around.
The ocean views, friendliness of the staff, service to the front veranda, proximity to shopping, restaurants and the Santa Monica Pier and beaches did wonders for a New York City visitor. Running on the sand, sunshine, food and cocktails at the hotel were just what this working professional needed to unwind. I live and work in a concrete jungle. Just looking out the window here was soothing to my soul. And I loved the retro feeling, from bathroom tiles to photos and posters framed on the walls. This is a unique hotel!
Nice hotel, excellent hospitality. Walking distance to The Cheesecake Factory. Nice parking facility. We love it. Will be back anytime. I forgot my iPad and called them, they had it for me secured and locked. Thank you.!
The location of the hotel was great. All the staff we encountered were friendly and check-in was a breeze. We were able to store our luggage there on the day of arrival and of departure prior to check-in and after check-out. The lobby was very nice. The rooms were clean. The only cons were the bedding. We felt if they updated their bedding to include softer sheets and more comfortable pillows it would have made a big difference. The rooms are somewhat dated, but we could look past that if the bed is comfortable with decent sheets and pillows.

Life is a never-ending summer in LA’s Beach Cities. Redondo Beach and surfing are forever intertwined. On weekends, many Angelinos head to Santa Monica to relax in the ocean and hang out at the Third Street Promenade. The Getty Center, an art-world powerhouse, is nestled in the nearby hills north of Brentwood. Santa Monica’s neighbor, Malibu, is home to The Getty Villa and its antiquities.
