"Good in almost every respect except for the most critical element: the bed was rock hard and the pillows were uncomfortable and unsupportive. Consequently, I suffered from a very poor night's sleep. I've stayed here many times in the past but not particularly recently. So perhaps they've changed the matresses and bedding since I was last here, or I've been unlucky with this 4th floor room. Gym was useful. Breakfast is included and decent."

"Fantastic hotel"

"Very nice hotel , characterful , nice decor in room and public areas. We upgraded to a sea view/balcony room. Was excellent Haven’t tried the Chophouse Restaurant. The Lounge Bar had nice atmosphere with a DJ and many locals popping in for a pint , although the staff were very friendly the service was slow. Will stay again the night before a ferry crossing"

"Excellent night’s stay. Room spacious and comfortable. Enjoyed spa facilities in the morning. Good choice of breakfast options - liked the new buffet. Staff friendly and helpful. We stay at the Imperial quite frequently and love the location and sea view."
