"Nice small hotel in quiet neighborhood, about 15 minutes walk to downtown Oxford. Friendly staff, good breakfast menu. Room was big, had 2 double beds, walking shower. "

"We were very disappointed with our stay and unfortunately will not be returning due to the service we received. While I was taking a short 15-minute break in the sauna, I left my toddler with my teenage daughter by the pool. My daughter was using her phone only to play a video for the toddler to keep her calm and distracted while waiting for me. A staff member told her not to use the phone, so she understood that photos were not allowed and put the phone away in the bag, facing only towards the toddler so she could continue watching the video. Despite this, she was approached again and told off, even though other adults around the swimming pool were openly using their phones without any issue. My daughter felt unfairly targeted and embarrassed. The staff were unsupportive, inconsistent, and lacked basic customer care. On top of this, the cleanliness standards were poor. The evening before, our toddler dropped fries under the table during dinner in the restaurant. The next morning at breakfast we were seated at the same table, and the fries from the previous night were still there. That says a lot about the level of cleaning and attention to hygiene."

"Location is great, very quiet and attractive neighbourhood about 30 minutes walk from the City through the Parks. Staff helpful, room clean if a little small and dated."

"Not a 4 star hotel at all. I’ve stayed in 3-star hotels that were much better than this. The hotel looks nothing like the photos online. it’s very run down and poorly maintained. The bath water drains extremely slowly, the taps are rusty, and there was mould in the bathroom, which is unacceptable. You can also hear people from above and next door. Another disappointing issue was the pool access. On Hotels.com it gives the impression that the pool is included, but nowhere during booking does it clearly mention there’s an extra charge to use it. Only after booking do they send an email informing you about the additional fee, which feels very misleading. Overall, definitely not worth the price or the 4-star rating."

"The Vines I believe has been recently taken over by new owners/management. They are still trying to find their feet, but are open and upfront about it from the moment you check in. The staff were friendly and helpful, the beer cold and crisp, the room clean and peaceful. I think once they get their rhythm the vines will only get better, though I did enjoy the feeling of it being like coming home to mum and dads which sometimes is a good thing and needed."

"Stain on carpet and sheets after room was “cleaned”, no fridge, other than that room was spacious and relaxing. No smart TV and no access to the back for a firestick so stuck with free view channels "
