"The room was beautiful and spotless however some of the furniture was a little worn but it added character. They had the tea and coffee box well stocked and not with just the standard tea and coffee but with the flavoured tea and decaf coffee plus they had shower gel, shampoo and conditioner as well as if you had forgotten anything you could ask for a guest pack (toothpaste, toothbrush, razors etc). On our first day we had and issue with the iron leaking, light blinking and not warming up so contacted reception and a brand new one was delivered to our room immediately. What we weren't made aware of is there was a £50 deposit upon arrival (not including what we had already paid for staying there). The staff are very friendly, they had live entertainment on Saturday night and there's 3 ways to eat at the hotel (room service, Ribs grill and bar food). Thank you for the comfortable stay."

"Enjoyed our overnight stay in the Celtic Manor and had time to recharge our batteries. The male member of staff at Reception was exceptional! (Sorry we didn't make a note of his name.) He was particularly welcoming, helpful and informative about all amenities available and booked all the little extras for us. The staff at 'The Grill' were also great, where we enjoyed a tasty meal in a relaxing atmosphere. Additionally, the breakfast offered plenty of variety the following morning. We opted to pay extra for a room with a balcony, however, although it was clean, comfortable and looked nice enough, on close inspection it needed a make-over and a lot of TLC. The balcony was shoddy and the door leading out to it didn't close properly so it was draughty. However, the worst experience for us during this visit was the pool and spa. Despite booking our 'slot', it was full to the brim. There were adults and children diving in to the pool even though there were lifeguards on duty and signs to discourage this. The steam room and jacuzzi / hot tubs were also jammed packed, and so were impossible to sample and enjoy. This aspect was disappointing and unacceptable."

"Good hotel, we stayed in a garden suite, and the bedroom was spacious, 2 comfortable chairs and a fab bathroom with separate shower, bath and 2 sinks. Liked the coffee maker as well as kettle and it had a fridge. Negatives: the pillows were really soft and they didn't have any other options. The main issue for me was breakfast: I had added to my booking that I was gluten and yeast free. However, the first morning it was not clear what of the hot food was gluten-free, and the chef came and talked to me to clarify. The bar menu has allergen information so why not the breakfast menu. Day 2, I really didn't fancy a cooked breakfast - so apart from fruit and yoghurt there was nothing I could eat. No gluten free cereal, crackers. The manager came over and said he'd never been asked before!!! Day 3, they had got gluten free porridge or granola. In this day and age I can't understand why there isn't more choice. "
