"Asked to replace the kettle and one of the cups in the room. Liked having a refrigerator. Very cool bar at the 7th floor of the property, another restaurant and Starbucks right on premises. Unable to comment on breakfast - it seemed overpriced, so skipped."

"Lovely hotel and perfect location. Only issue is the shower pressure was very very weak, you would be unable to wash your hair or get a proper shower ect. Staff were very good and friendly."

"Modern building and room; rooftop restaurant is excellent. Staff were all very friendly; front desk was helpful for booking licensed taxi and giving late check-out. Umbrellas available for self-service rental. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance, 5-minute walk from/to Leeds train station, and a very handy Co-op store that is steps away from the front of the hotel. Lock on room door felt secure. Contemporary bathroom - great towel rail and nice thick towels. Freeview TV channels. Very comfortable bed. Multiple lighting points and large mirror. Fridge, hairdryer, iron with ironing board provided in room all came in handy. Temperature control in room favoured the cooler side. Hand soap and shower gel needed refilling. Overall, very good for a two-night stay for attending a wedding."

"A fabulous stay. The delicious cookies on arrival were a lovely surprise and our room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our one night stay including shampoo, conditioner and shower gel! The spa was beautiful and so relaxing and the breakfast was great value for the price. Great location with easy walking distance to the beautiful town of Harrogate. Bar staff were very chatty and attentive but we found the reception staff not that friendly and also breakfast staff failed to get our hot drinks on arrival. Would be useful to have spa times and a spa menu with massages etc in the room. Overall a lovely relaxing stay! Would definitely return."

"Some furnishings could do with a revamp, although all clean. food was nice and large potions in the evening . Staff were helpful. Disappointed not as plush as pictures indicate. Further from York than anticipated"
Great Victoria Hotel

"Disappointed this time. Booked an executive room as a treat, never upgraded before. Upon arrival the room was great, bedroom good & large bath & large walk in shower. Unfortunately the blind on the large bathroom window would not close and as we were on the top floor it was very exposed & i was concerned that when it got darker in the evening, using the facilities would be seen by the opposite buildings. I reported the blind to reception, the gentleman came & looked & it wasn't repairable so I was offered another room. The 2nd room was quite small & dark, the TV didn't work & the lamp under the TV didn't work. The bathroom sink plug didn't hold the water in & there wasn't a fitted shower, just a hand held shower. My upgraded treat wasn't to be 😞"
