" Beautiful hotel that has had a lot of work done to it recently. But I was annoyed that we had to pay £5 a day on top of our hotel bill for parking in the hotel carpark. Plus the pillows were very hard & uncomfortable, & there was only one socket available to use in the room. "

"Poor service upon arrive from girl on reception’s She had wandered off to the bar to chat. Leaving my elderley parents waiting at reception, calling the hotel and unable to check in until they went to find her. They reported she was rude and unhelpful. Room was good, comfy beds and nice area. "

"Perfect location, comfortable rooms but hotel may need a little TLC. There is a smell on the corridors and the lift is ancient but still very functional. Service was however below par. They practically ran out of everything during breakfast for the 3 nights we stayed here. Customers were queuing waiting for food items to be replenished but there seems to be no urgency or should I say the restaurant seems UNDERSTAFFED. The pool was great and quiet whenever we visit. "

"This hotel is great, worth the upgrade to stay in the old hall, buffet breakfast was the best, don’t usually do self service breakfast but this was so fresh Staff were amazing which makes so much of a difference "

"We stayed here for our day trip to Chatsworth House. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. We had arrived late in the night and the restaurant was closed but the staff kindly prepared us food which was delicious. The room was clean and the bathtub is great to soak in after a long day of sightseeing! "

"Perfect stay at this beautiful hotel. The decor and level of cleanliness were first class. The food was definitely worth returning for...and we will! However, the service we received from the staff team was what we loved the best: in particular, the lady who checked us in was fantastic and a real asset in her role. "The room was clean, well furnished and had a cozy feel. We would stay here again, however, there were some minor issues. The toilet flush ran continuously and was audible at night. The cover over the shower plughole was broken and the lead on the kettle was too short and had to be used on the floor. Also the mattress was too firm for us."

"So please we booked for the Wheatsheaf whilst on the way to Scotland with friends. Staff were so helpful, dinner (steak night) was brilliant as was the cooked breakfast the next morning. Loved the interior decor of the pub and the bedroom. "
