"It's a very solid, slightly-above-average Japanese hotel. Rooms are compact but well appointed, ammenities are nice. It's a bit let-down by being overly-fussy, with the lounge area on the basement level being closed at 1am, even though it's the only area to congregate in the hotel. With no rooms on that level or the first floor, noise can't be an issue... They just don't want people to be able to sit down if their room is not an option (like needing to take an overseas work phone call when your partner is trying to sleep). Likewise, I understand that the baths must close at 1am for "cleaning," but I wish they were open later (or all night) like other premium hotel chains. All in all, it was a nice experience and I would stay there again, but I'd also look around to see if the other hotels in the same range/class were a bit less uptight."

"The staff kindly held our luggage until check-in time, which was a nice convenience on a busy morning. The building is a little dated, but the room and bed was quite comfy. The location, in the heart of the Odori area and close to the subway and streetcar was perfect."

"The receptionist was able to communicate well in English. The room has minimal necessity, we requested spoon from reception when we wanted to eat pudding in room. Spacious room and nice bath salt at lobby. My kids are able to run around the room. Walking distance to restaurants. 10-15mins walking to the main tourist area."
