"Very attentive and helpful staff. Spotlessly clean. Very well appointed room with a comfy bed and good bathroom. Nice bar with lots of space. Breakfast very enjoyable. The only downside was the main evening meal - it wasn’t unpleasant but really wasn’t in keeping with the rest of the hotel. Seemed very ‘processed’ if that makes sense. Certainly won’t stop us returning to the hotel next time we visit Yorkshire "

The owners and staff were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was reasonably good with a decent spread. While we noticed that most of the rooms were quite well maintained, the furnishings in the family room where we stayed were slightly old and run down, so taking one star off the overall rating. "The place itself was lovely a little dated in the bedrooms but so clean, short walk to the shambles, food at the hotel was fantastic excellent price, can recommend the Eggs Benedict for breakfast, outside lovely seating area right by the river and last but not least staff are so welcoming very attentive 5 star service will be going back again "
