"This is quite simply a gorgeous place to stay. It is expensive but worth every penny. The location and grounds are excellent with walks to the loch side and castle just a few minutes from the main building. The room and facilities are exquisite. Access to the comfortable library and lounge gives a great place to relax and read or have a drink before or after dinner. A top stay! We had stayed here on our honeymoon 30 years previously and it still lived up to the expectations for our recent anniversary stay."

The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful – perfect for a relaxing getaway. Every member of the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, with a great selection of dishes prepared to a high standard. One of the highlights for me was the incredible selection of whiskeys – a real treat to enjoy while unwinding in the evening. "Old school stately charm, the staff make an effort to provide a luxurious experience in this historically grand hotel. Great to have a bathtub, bathrooms have been renovated. Treats and coffee/tea provided in the room. Friendly and cozy pub for visitors and locals with full menu available. Grand, formal dining room and halls for guests. Typical Scottish decor, plaid carpets with random sections of scenic wallpaper amid beautiful old woodworking. Apparently Queen Victoria stayed here while in Kingussie! We loved our stay and the small town is gorgeous to walk. "
