Although there was two of us we reserved the family room that had a bunk bed in there as well. Also a benefit was the balcony that you could go out or leave open for the fresh crisp air. We had the top corner room overlooking the canal and if you can reserve this one as you had canal view as well as out to the Loch Lthough not a full view. Petrol station around the corner was also a supermarket and pharmacy and alcohol could be purchased. Check in is unique but there are very clear instructions and free parking just down the street. The restaurant is great and we sat out by the water outside. Great smoked salmon and egg breakfast. Also ate at the Old Boathouse down by the water which was great! Fort Augustus is a cute little town with little shops and restaurants. Saw the locks in action the morning that we left as well which was very cool to witness!
