"Lovely location, about 20 minutes walk from the centre which we enjoyed doing. Really nice little hotel/lodge, the only downside was the room service ordering, we ordered two drinks to come to our room which were not complicated drinks and they took 45 minutes, and during this time my partner had to go and remind them to make them twice, and he ended up bringing them back to the room even though I had to pay £2.50 for delivery to the room."

I was surprised that breakfast was not included, but probably my fault for not reading the details carefully. However, I eat very little at breakfast and felt that £12.50 was rather too much for my requirements. "

"This hotel is a pub with rooms above. It is a period building so has it's quirks but that adds to it's charm. Our room was spacious & bathroom was very clean. Other furnishings a little tired & electrics need updating as extension leads with multiple sockets pose a safety issue. Food was excellent & staff were amazing. Definitely would stay again as in a great location in town. "

It's important to note that in our experience there was nearly no service: when we were there we did not meet a single staff member. But for us this was fine. We spoke to them by phone, and they were very helpful and flexible with us as we solved some checking-in problems (of our own making, not their fault). Don't expect attentive hotel service and modern facilities but do expect a charming quite...
