"We have lodged at numerous hotels in the area. The Ragged Cot beats them all…Excellent staff, excellent location, excellent food.(especially the free breakfast).Excellent value. Nice warm room. Safe free parking. Good free WiFi. The restaurant menu is excellent. However, I would recommend that the management consider adding a “lighter bites” menu…The portions on the main menu are large! Well done to all the staff. "

" Nice pub with rooms, they are on the side of the pubs outside area so can be noisy. The rooms are a bit basic no draws or cupboards if you wanted to unpack during a longer stay. Very tight bathroom with the toilet close to the bath/shower and the sink to big and close to the toilet. We stayed two nights and the bed was made and the room tidied but the tea tray was not refreshed. Good service from the staff. A little overpriced for the bed & breakfast rate."

Nothing too much trouble Food was excellent for evening meal and breakfast So convenient to have good food in the hotel so we didn’t have to go out again. "My wife & I stayed on Sat 27thApril to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary, we have stayed before & had a wonderful time. Nat gave us a nice bottle of fizz & a note wishing us a happy anniversary. Rob was also wonderful behind the bar & eveeyone looked after us so well. Matt is a genius in the kitchen & fed us some amazing food. It is our favourite place to stay & we will be comi g back again & again."

"You'll need a car to get around as it's in the middle of nowhere. I'm a type of traveller who needs space so go for the Comfort room if you're the same. Room was adequate for a 3 star hotel so wasn't expecting much but the breakfast buffet was excellent. Very freshly made especially in batch as they don't allow hot food to sit there to get soggy. My friend may write a review complaining about staff not able to make a mocha so if you see that then ignore her comments. She isn't classy and doesn't...

"Lovely place to stay and spotlessly clean Our disappointment was the size of the room we paid extra for a standard double room rather than the small double , we were given room 14 which on reflection seems more like it was a small double as it only had one bedside table and a very small gap down the other side and caught my leg on bed end when getting back down the small gap. The bed was nice and comfy but could have done with extra pillow in wardrobe ( appreciate this is personal choice )...
