Great location in the University district, 5 minute walk to the Metro. 3 stops from the Colosseum! Hotel room was basic but spotless and comfortable. Lovely balcony to sit and have a drink or 2! Breakfast was good and had everything you would want from a continental, great coffee. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Would definitelu stay again!

"Gorgeous hotel in Piazza Bologna"
I had some doubts about the hotel because it was not dead smack in the middle of Rome - but it turned out to be the best ever. First, the staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable. Though the showers were a bit high (there was a good step down coming from the bathtub), the bathroom was huge, so big plus there. Matrimonial sized bed was a perfect size - I did not find myself struggling for space in the bed as I thought I would when I heard there were no queen/king sizes. There was an ironing board and iron on the first level, along with a 3-machine gym (treadmill, bike(?), and a bowflex-type all in 1 weight set. The hotel does offer breakfast and has a huge dining area with a bar though I did not use it. There are 3 cafeterias close by within a 2-minute walking distance. Also there is a bar (think of a Starbucks+small bakery) close by that is open very late and is always bustling with locals. The hotel itself is close to the Metropolitano (Metro - Subway) which if you do not have the luxury of calling a cab everytime you go out, you will find very useful in moving around Rome. A number of stores and banks are also very close within 5-minute walking distance.

"10-day stay at Blu Hotel Roma, September 2014"
I have nothing negative to say about this hotel; our experience was fantastic. The staff were competent, helpful, responsive and friendly, and spoke English fairly well. It was an easy walk to a main public transportation terminal (Tiburtina Fs--about 1/2-2/3 mile) with a bus stop to terminal 1/2 block away, supermarket across the street, and eating places in nearby neighborhood and on main street through Tiburtina area (Via Tiburtina, between terminal and hotel). It is a short ride to sights in Rome. The area along route from terminal is ugly but felt safe, and is better on the other side of hotel. Breakfast provided was good, restaurant on site also good. It is a modern facility, and our room was large. Rental car agency nearby (on route to terminal) would be handy for those wanting to rent a car for part of stay.

"Pleasant stay"
Hotel was clean and staff very friendly and helpful. They assisted us with a map direction and booking a tour to the Vatican. Conveniently located close to bus stop and within walking distance to the train station. Located in a quiet neighborhood with restaurants and fruit stalls, ice-cream shops etc. The only thing is that the hotel is not within walking distance to the historic sights, but easy to get to by train or bus. Would stay there again.

"Lovely cosy hotel, clean and comfortable."
The room is big and comfortable. Clean, modern and cosy hotel. Very helpful staff, they will text you (international mobile) before your arrival to arrange your check in. Breakfast not included and no dinning area, however there is a common area included drink and cooking faculties which you can used for free. Homemade cake available for free and they lovely. Area may not be the best but still easy to get to most of the attraction. Staff will introduce all the transportation when you check in. Bedroom is modern clean and big (big in rome), bed is comfortable. We had 3 nice nights, good recharged night after long walk during day time for all attraction.

"Conveniently located & comfortable"
Stayed here early in July - two sharing a twin room. The room was clean, comfy, with air conditioning which was really great as it was very hot in the city. Beds were comfy enough for a good nights sleep and the road is pretty quiet so we slept well. The rooms are cleaned daily - beds were remade and new towels supplied every day while we were out. Staff were pleasant and the breakfast was very sufficient and fuelled us for a day of sight seeing. The metro is located around the corner so the location couldn't be better for getting into the city and to all the main attractions. This is a really good hotel for those willing to stay outside of city centre to save some pennies - the metro passes are cheap and the services are quick and regular so we found it highly convenient. It's only a few stops away from the centre so you can be in the city within 10-15 minutes of walking out of your room. We were both really happy with our stay here and would stay here again.

"Excellent B&B with lovely service"
We had a wonderful 5 nights here. The room was beautiful and on a par with a quality hotel. The B&B is on the 4th floor of an apartment block is a pleasant residential area with plenty of local amenities, but only 3 stops on the metro from Termini, so everything is very accessible. The owner, Sylvia, was very friendly and helpful, providing a great breakfast each morning - we couldn't have asked for better and were genuinely sad to leave.

"Athena Hotel is brilliant!"
Athena hotel was truly a great choice, from the location to its staff, my family and I had a brilliant stay for seven nights. The hotel has so many shops near buy so you won't go hungry and has great links to the main hub, Termini Station. We walked there everyday and it took us about fifteen mins. The staff were amazing, in particular the two female members of the team, but all staff were helpful! Our hot water wasn't working for a bit and one of the staff immediately issued another room to have a shower in, the service is brilliant! Our room was clean and it had air con and a TV, both worked. The breakfast was delicious with a wide range of foods available. Our experience as a family was really good and we found it hard to fault the hotel. It was brilliant!
