“Wonderful roof restaurant view”

Being very close to the Termini this hotel is very easy to find, and centrally located. I was most courteously treated at reception - who had my order recorded, my single room turned out to have a large bed and everything I could want. The buffet breakfast was excellent; however it is the roof restaurant that I will go back for, with a panoramic view of most of Rome - plus good service. It was interesting to note that every door was a solid fire door, and the central staircase had been cleverly boxed in, also for fire safety - you do not always see this. One possible slight confusion is that Bettoja own four hotels, all of which share a common location but different entrances. Good value for money, you need spend no more!

Area recommendations
There is the option of both a fast express train, a cheaper slower train, and a semi direct shuttle bus from Fumiciano airport to Termini - the Central Station - so for business trips being close to this station is very convenient. Rome is not a large City, so you can actually walk to most places from there within 30 minutes, and the weather makes that pleasant, plus there are some wonderful buildings around to see. As an alternative you are right by a Metro station. Head for the Coloseum, then take a route to the Parthenon, and after that a walk to the Vatican, and you will have seen a great deal of Rome in under three hours!

“Not four stars”

Very convenient location for the center of Rome, clean room and, at the rate I got though Expedia (which was about a third of the hotel's rack rate) it was a good deal. Had I paid their rack rate, I would have said it was hugely overpriced. The breakfast was nothing special. My room was meant to have a queen bed but I was given two very narrow single beds. The door lock was in poor condition and difficult to open.

“Very nice hotel”

The location of the hotel is very well situated near the train/bus station which is just a block away from the hotel. The concierge is very knowledgeable in places of interest and transportation. The breakfast is superb. On our last night with the hotel, I told the front desk that our flight is very early that we will check out of the hotel at 6.00 am. He told the kitchen to pack breakfast for us. When we checked out in the morning they gave us our breakfast in a bag. I arranged airport/port transfers with the hotel. I booked for a compact car. The compact car is a Mercedes Benz. When I go back to Rome someday, I book definitely book with this hotel. Also, they provide slippers, bathrobe, tea and coffee in the room.

I don't remember the hotel address.
Getting around
Getting around to Rome's attractions is easy. The Hotel Mediterraneo is a block away from the train/bus station (Termini). It only cost 1 Euro each way. And you can also buy tickets from the concierge or from machines on the train station. They also provide you with brochures/maps of Rome.

“Location, but service”

Great location, across the street from main train station. Easy access, and clean rooms, but if you are looking for any reasonable standard of service, best to look elsewhere. Rude, unhelpful staff throughout.

“Great Hotel, Great Location, Great Service”

My wife and I stayed at this hotel during the first portion of our honeymoon and were very impressed. The hotel is extremely close to the train and bus station, making it quick and easy to get to where you'de like to go. It's also only about a 10-15 minute walk from the colosseum, forum and capitol, as well as several restaurants. The condition and size of the room were also very nice. We were very impressed with the service as the employers were always available to offer suggestions and help when needed.

“JUST LOVED IT”

THE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL. BREAKFAST BUFFET WAS MORE THAN I EXPECTED. LOCATED WALKING DISTANCE FROM TERMINI TRAIN STATION, MAKING IT A GREAT JUMPING POINT TO FLORENCE OR POMPEI AS WE DID, OR THE BUS TERMINAL. CHECKING IN AND OUT WAS VERY QUICK. MANY SMALL RESTURANTS AND GELATO SHOPS CLOSE BY. I WOULD GO BACK.

Area recommendations
ROME IS VERY WALKABLE. WE WALKED AND ENJOYED EVERYWHERE WE WENT. WE TOOK THE BUS TO THE VATICAN BUT WE WALKED TO TREVI FOUNTAIN, THE SPANISH STEPS, PIAZZA NAVONA, CAMPO DI FIORE, PIAZZA DEL POPOLO, THE JEWISH GHETTO, THE PANTHEON, THE COLISEUM, THE FORUM, MAMMERTINE PRISON WHICH HELD PETER AND PAUL. IF YOU LOVE ART, VISIT AS MANY CHURCHES AS YOU CAN. TIME AND TIME AGAIN WE WOULD ENTER A CHURCH AND OUR JAWS WOULD JUST DROP, THEY WERE BEAUTIFIL. WALK DOWN THE STREETS ENJOY THE FOUNTAINS. WHEN YOU WANT TO RELAX FOR A WHILE GO TO THE BORGESE PARK OUTSIDE OF THE CROOKED WALL, WE RENTED A BICYCLE BUILT FOR TWO. WE SPENT ONE WEEK AND THROUGHLY ENJOYED IT.
When to go
WE WENT IN LATE OCTOBER, COOL YOU MIGHT NEED A LIGHT JACKET. LINE WERE NOT TOO LONG.DO BUY AS MANY TICKETS TO ANYWHERE IN ADVANCE, TO MINIMIZE THE LINES. WE PREBOUGHT TICKETS FOR THE TRAIN TO AND FROM POMPEI AND FLORENCE, TO THE MUSEUMS , TO THE VATICAN GARDENS TO THE VATICAN MUSEUM , TO THE COLISUEM, THE FORUM AND PALENTINE HILLS. UNLESS YOU ARE WITH A GROUP THIS WILL SAVE YOU HOURS IN LINE AFTER LINE

“Good time in Rome”

An ideal location very central to most major attractions, buses and Metro. Very good breakfast in the hotel, especially the Cappuchino (sp?) and some good restuarants nearby

“One of Rome's Best”

Centrally-located and boasts of a good service, this hotel deserves the 4-star rating it bears. The Colloseo is a leisurely walk down Via Cavour. Good breakfast too. Recommended!
