Nice hote, with a very comfy bed. Dinner and breakfast both really nice. Enjoyed the swimming pool and there is a small gym room. Plenty of parking. Stayed in a single room for two nights would stay aging if I'm in the area.
Great hotel. Great staff. We stayed at the hotel for a week while visiting family in Hutton. The hotel was conveniently located to the motorway and the morning breakfast got us ready to start each day.
"Nice hotel but some areas ready for refurbishment"
Very good welcome by reception staff. Have stayed at this hotel before, however, room not as nice as last time and bed not particularly comfortable. However room was very clean and nice selection of toiletries in bathroom.
Stairs and corridor in need of decoration. Chairs in bar also looked as though they had seen better days. Bar staff were very polite and helpful. Breakfast was fab and again staff very attentive.
Had a pleasant 5 days stay at the hotel. Breakfast provided was good, the staffs were very friendly and the hotel was very clean. Wifi was available at all times. I would recommend others to stay here.
We stayed at the hotel for a single night and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was superb. The only downside was the lack of a bath in our bathroom. However, the other facilities were great. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.
Thought I was in for a bad time when the first words I was greeted with were "you're early" after turning up 40 minutes before check-in time. Not what I want to hear after a four hour train journey. Then had to wait in restaurant while the only person on duty spent many minutes counting her till money. After that I couldn't complain about the rooms, the food or the service. One downturn was being wakened at 5:00 a.m. by the sound of numerous young, seemingly drunk men shouting, banging doors, doing push-ups and generally being disruptive in the hallways. When I opened the door to see what was happening I was asked by one if I could charge his mobile phone for him. When I mentioned it to staff, I was greeted by "well, it's a bank holiday". No apologies. Rooms were very clean. Lots of hot water. Lots of clean and good quality towels. Moderate free WiFi. Good breakfast offering. Price was extremely good. Big problems flushing toilet. A battle every time.
This is a great little hotel. The staff were all friendly and very efficient. Check in couldn't have been faster and you are shown to your room. The room was large, spotlessly clean and everything worked. Our room had a large shower, rather than a bath, which was fine for us but not what some people might expect. The room was nicely furnished and although in no way shabby you can see some wear in places. The main bar / restaurant area is nicely decorated and there is also a large conservatory and a large courtyard garden with covered seating areas. The evening meal was very good with a wide choice of dishes plus specials. The cooked breakfast was also good but if you want a 'continental' breakfast it's cereal and toast. Why would you stay at an chain economy hotel when you can stay somewhere like this.
Once a thriving mill town, Preston has felt the pinch of de-industrialization like much of the northeast. The city is peppered with beautiful old buildings including the Harris Museum and St John's Minster. The River Ribble runs through the south of the city, where the old docks are undergoing regeneration. A little further up the Ribble is Brockholes: a nature reserve with bird-watching hides.
