"Basic, large hotel in great location for subway."
The APA hotel was overall a good experience. On arrival the staff weren't as friendly as the other places we have been but I wouldn't consider that a huge issue really. The room was small as per in Japan but the bed/pillow combo was not ideal! Hard and uncomfortable and the pillows were partially beans/stuffing? I guess if you are used to that it would be okay. I didn't use the spa facilities but they seemed popular so I assune they were good!. We had a good view of the city as well which was cool and the bath was deep and bathroom was well layed out. The best thing was that when you walk out the door you basically walk into the enterance for the higobashi subway station- 3 stops (180yen) away from Namba (dotonbori/running man/shopping/nightlife etc) so that was awesome. If you are looking for luxury I would reccomend one of the more expensive rooms or a hotel more directed at guest experiences etc. This one has a bit of a business feel to it! Good hotel if you are looking for a good location and reasonable price but aren't overly concerned about confort and service!
We arrived at the inn at 11am, but the check-in timing was at 3pm. The staff was nice to help us hold on to the luggage at the reception until it was 2.30pm. They even moved the luggage into our room!
Breakfast is provided everyday between 7 to 9 am and the simple fare is more than enough to give the energy for travellers who would be visiting more of the Kansai region.
The Wifi is strong at the dining area at the ground floor, but when it was in the rooms, the signal was not strong enough for any connection.
This hotel is very convenient as it is near the bus-stop that goes to Osaka Central, near to subways Awaza and Higobashi.
Checking out was also hassle-free and I will recommend friends to come here to stay!
I had a conference in the Nakanoshima area. It was just ten minute walk from the hotel. The room and bathroom are relatively small, but the room is quite clearn and comfortable. The cleaning service is also good. Also, the spring spa is free. The staff memebrs were exteremly kind. I think you should try the homemade style breakfast.
Disappointing to say the least.
What was booked, is not what was offered.
Requested twin room....was given semi double (small double)
Had to pay extra for twin room
Requested non smoking....was tried to put in smoking
Language was a major hassle....until an elderly gentleman (porter) appeared
He really went out of his way to help/assist...but was overruled by management
Even though full breakfast was included, would have like to see them cater for international guests
After a shocking start....things only got better
No good "Winjing & ...itching" just try to enjoy with what is on offer, after all,
we are guests of their country.
Being in the crossing of Osaka's Chuo (Central) and Senichimae subway lines is fast and easy to make connections to all tourist spots of Osaka. The hotel also have a pair of fully automatic coin washer machines and dryers in the first floor. The complimentary breakfast was good, something to be expected from hotels with higher rates. I would have rated this hotel with 5 in all aspects, if not where for the fact that being an old building, the air conditioning equipment needed maintenance and cleaning.
I traveled as a single, non-smoking student to visit one of my friends in the Osaka-fu area. With price being of the most importance to me, I settled on Sunrise Hotel. It is in a great location - the Chuo and Sennichimae lines, which are incredibly useful and also connect to every other major line, are within 2 minutes walking distance. Definitely not a really lively area, but that was fine with me since Nanba, Shinsaibashi, Kyobashi, and a ton of other places are easily accessible by subway.
The staff was friendly. I speak pretty decent Japanese so I never experienced whether or not they spoke English, however.
My room was small but clean. There was always a faint scent of tobacco from rooms that allow smoking, but as long as you're in Japan, you're always gonna smell that since smoking is permitted pretty much everywhere.
A maid came in every day around 11 am to clean to room too.
