Had a wonderful stay in the newly renovated ocean rooms. These are clearly a notch above the rest of the hotel, and worth the trouble, if you can afford it. Spa is a little disappointing, but the beach is great, especially off season. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. It would be nice if the breakfast buffet was extended to weekdays, but off-season, one can understand why it wouldn't. All in all, would definitely return, although definitely off-season!
hotel was in a great location -near shops, restaurants, bars (the memory motel), and a late night pizzeria. We had a hotel pool which we didn't get a chance to swim in but it looked nice. lots of young people staying in the hotel so it was like a big party. only complaint was that there was no full length mirror, which is not convenient for two girls. otherwise we were happy.

I only stayed here one night (found an online discount) and I loved it! I stayed during the week with my boyfriend and walked from the train station to the hotel. Once there, the staff was super friendly and the room was quaint. As a standard room it only had a dresser, mini-fridge, and bed. The bed was comfy and restroom mold free. I was expecting the hammock in the bedroom, but oh well. There were hammocks outside, yet they were taken when we looked.
We LOVED the complimentary bikes! Easy check-out process made for maximized time riding around town (even to the local German bar/grill Zum Schneider). Be aware that although the bikes have bells, they have NO lights and the streets have minimal to no lighting in the evening (and drivers are dangerous here).
Breakfast nook was delightful! As there was no room service I just asked them for a tray, filled up on fresh fruit, yogurt, english muffin, coffee, orange juice, and took it all back to my room.
All in all we adored this place! I'll definitely be returning when visiting Montauk!
