I stayed here with a girl friend of mine on the 2nd weekend of the MERS scare/Ultra Music Festival weekend. As it was my friends birthday I'd emailed the hotel in advance to see if they could organize a complimentary upgrade of room or to decorate the room in anyway. The hotel advised (At the time) that they were very busy and the upgrade was dependent on room availability. Upon checkin, we were advised that the hotel was not busy at all and that many bookings had been cancelled because of the MERS scare, unfortunately the hotel still declined to upgrade the room.
The hotel lobby is really lovely, the ceiling is high, the lobby is breezy and there are cool green swings and a large yellow chair reminisce of Alice in Wonderland. The cafe in the hotel is appealing and offers breakfast/lunch and dinner options.
The room itself was clean, but aged (loose power sockets, table/cabinets showing wear). One thing that we really appreciated in the room was the international power sockets located right next to the twin beds (in the middle) this was fantastic and so convenient! More hotels should do this!!
The bathroom is large, but it is also clear glass with the middle section opaqued out. It's weird and frankly unsuitable for tall people (you'd see over the opaque glass) and with all the mirrors in the room it's just not a good idea. In addition, there was a mirror above the toilet (what for??)!
This is the third time we stay at the Grand Hyatt. This is the place I choose to stay when we are in Seoul. The lobby has one of the very best views of the city, and it is so relaxing to seat in the company of a soft piano and a violin. The gym is also one of the best. If you like a morning exercise you will not be disappointed with this gym.
The hotel is a good choice for budget traveler.
Room was good enough, and staff was nice and helpful.
The hotel is located across from a rowdy bar. But I didn't hear it at night. Down the street are 2 houses of ill repute. No problem. Girls just stick their head out the window and ask you once.
But Itaewon's main road is just a 3 minute walk. Subway and Dunkin Doughnuts sit on the main drag, a 3 minute walk from hotel. Restaurants galore in the area.
The Hamilton Hotel is in a Great location. Its right in the middle of Itaewon shopping, dining and drinking. The Staff are super friendly and the rooms are super clean and comfortable. You cant beat the price and comfort of the Hamilton if your in the area.
Located to the south of the city centre and near a US military base, Itaewon is sometimes referred to as Little America. It is a cosmopolitan district, with an international flair that attracts many tourists. There is a wide range of restaurants offering world cuisines, as well as nightclubs, adult bars, discount shops and street stalls selling clothes and souvenirs. It is also home to the War Memorial Museum.
