"A stunningly beautiful house and gardens in an equally beautiful location, the hosts were very hospitable and very knowledgeable about the local area, the bed was super comfy and ample room in the bathroom with a very good walk in shower, full English breakfast was cooked to perfection, home made Blackberry jam you have to try, local pub nearby for food but remember to book a table for eavning dining. "The room was warm, clean and cosy, comfy bed, bath towels a bit small, had a room with mountain view of Dow Crag & Coniston all be it a little restricted, the food was very good in the evening & the breakfast had a great choice and very tasty, staff were very friendly and helpful, it was a very peacful place to stay quiet at night no noise from other rooms will defo stay again it has been one of our better choices"

"In the middle of nowhere and rooms, although clean with comfortable beds are the most basic - absolutely no amenities. It is a 15 minute drive to the nearest town and there is no restaurant - only breakfast (which was very good) no tea/coffee in the rooms only in the lounge/dining area and once cups are used there are no clean ones. Honestly Hotels.com need to be more clear in their description. Very expensive for what you get!"

"Lovely BnB. Darren couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating. The room was clean, bed was huge and very comfy. Shower was lovely and the breakfast was very very good. The village is so beautiful and only a short drive from Ambleside. We stayed 2 nights, but after arriving very late and leaving early we only had 1 day to see as much as possible and Darren gave us great recommendations. I loved my stay here."

"Nice apartment for my wife and I to spend a couple of nights with our 1 year old daughter. There was plenty of room in the bedroom for the travel cot we brought with us, and they provided a high chair on arrival. The apartment was also dog friendly so our little pooch was able enjoy the trip with us (at a cost of £25 per night). "Had a very surprising experience, paid £65 for 1 single room and didn’t expect much due to the price, just something cheap and cheerful, maybe a bit dated. Room massively surpassed expectations - view of lake Windermere, minimal white/grey design, really clean, and to top it off, an amazing power shower that went ARCTIC COLD (for those who do cold showers, this one’s for you). Had the best stay! Also, it’s right next to the entrance for the walk up to Orrest head for a full panoramic view of Windermere. Perfection. "
