“Excellent choice for the British Riviera”

We expected the Imperial Hotel to be a faded gem. We were pleasantly surprised by how up to date it is. Our rooms were huge with balconies and wonderful views of the ocean. The bathrooms were clean and modern. The breakfast that they offered was excellent, served in a beautiful room with a gorgeous view. The bar is also very pleasant. The spa has a small indoor swimming pool with whirlpool and steam room. We would definitely recommend the Imperial Hotel for your stay on the "British Riviera."

“A perfect spot to stay”

The weather was foul - so what a joy to come back to a very warm palatial room. Sadly only there for one night on a theatre break but made a fantastic get away, and made use of the pool and jacuzzi - bliss - felt like a real break away.

“Devonian delights”

I loved my stay. I felt like I had stepped back in time to an age of elegance. The room was lovely, just how I would like my own house to be. The decor, the service and the quality of food and drink was excellent. I couldn't fault the hotel at all. Staff in general and at the spa were friendly and helpful. As I was leaving there was a military wedding taking place, so I got to go out on the red carpet. It was all very magical, The good weather also helped.

“Impressive hotel!”

There were lots of noisy children at the hotel, but it was half-term so it was only to be expected, I suppose.

“Great hotel all round”

Wonderful stay - the room was spacious and had an amazing view. The bed was huge! We did find the mattress a little hard but probably because we're used to a soft one! Our sheets were changed daily and the room was cleaned nicely. The bathroom was very clean and spacious. The staff were all very helpful and the breakfast each day was yummy! As were the cream teas! The only thing I would have to mark this hotel down on would be the carpets. They look extremely old and very 'in ground' dirty. I wasn't overly happy having my 8 month crawl around on them but didn't have a choice! If the hotel were to do anything it would be to upgrade all the carpets!

“Relaxing Break at The Imperial”

From our arrival until departure we found the staff pleasant and helpful. The location of the hotel in relation to both views and local facilities was most pleasing. We found the dining facilities extremely good with a very good choice of food, particularly at breakfast. All of this contributed to a most pleasant and relaxing experience.
