Well positioned with wonderful views.

Pros: Loved the Leisure centre.
Cons: Thought that the decor was a bit dated.
Location: We know Torquay well and always find interesting things to do. Love the walks and amazing views.
Really enjoyed our stay in this well positioned hotel. Loved the views of the sea from our bedroom. The staff were very welcoming and the rooms were serviced regularly The food was good and all in all a nice experience Nora and Kevin Williams

Englands Rivierea

Pros: The reception staff were wonderful. Nothing was a problem.
Cons: The man answering phone calls needs to have people skills, and management need to review the staffing issues in the restaurant area.
Location: Torquay is a fun place to be for all the family. There is plenty to do, and plenty of eateries.
I wasn't expecting to have a good time after making a phone call and speaking to a man who was quite abnoxious. I told him that I did not want to pay £7 a night to park on the hotel carpark and he told me basically to look for parking when I arrive. Anyway the receptionists were lovely. We were upgraded to a lovely room with a balcony facing out to the sea. The room was spacious and appropriately furnished. (Carpet could do with replacing or steam clean though) The gym was adequate and it had a good size pool. No complaints at all about breakfast as there was plenty to choose from. However, the staff in the restaurant appeared to be run off their feet and were not so friendly.

Totally unable to cope with non-dairy diet!

Posted 09-Mar-2014
Pros: Stunning internal decoration throughout! Incredible view from the restaurant.
Disappointing five-night stay, largely due to the catering. The hotel restaurant was wholly unable to cope with a basic dietary requirement, ie. dairy allergy, despite us 'phoning to warn the hotel the week before arriving. They remained unable to cater to this basic requirement even on our fifth day there when we had been eating in the restaurant every morning and evening due to the size of our party. We tried to pre-warn reception when we arrived, but they just suggested we tell them ourselves! Similarly, when I was diverted to reception as no-one in the spa was answering the 'phone, they told me not to bother waiting on the line as the spa was always busy! The absolute limit was when we complained at the final meal when the same order was brought wrong for the second time and the waitress suggested we keep it rather than send it back a second time as the chef was busy! Overall, a disappointing experience. It was strange because the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful throughout!

Our short break

Everything good, lifts confusing, pool cleanliness and changing room facilities left a lot to be desired with some health and safety issues.

Super stay

Our first child free weekend ever, we looked for somewhere that was a little bit special. Arriving,we where upgraded to a sea view room which was just lovely. The room was fab. Clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was again lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The selection of food on offer was super. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely visit again, next time for longer,

Quality as Expected

Pros: Relaxed ambience
Cons: Did not like having to pay £7.00 per night to park the car
Location: Adjacent to the Harbour attractions and near by Paignton and Brixham. Easy ride into Dartmoor etc. Excellent Bus services
From Reception to Restaurant exactly as we expested.
