"The hotel is a stately home. More like a Manor that is just outside Penpont; Thornhill is just a 5 min drive. It’s located in a gorgeous area surrounded by lovely old oak trees and the Scaur River. Excellent for a good walk. "

"This is a fantastic property. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. Although close to the main road (and easy access to local amenities, walks and beautiful beaches), it is quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is very well stocked and we enjoyed having the pool/ping pong table in the lounge. Would love to return for another stay."

Also everything you need in the cupboards Garden area was great and a lot of the farm animals came to say hello Nice walks nearby and other lovely places to visit by car. "Lovely! perfect hotel great location staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Evening meal was excellent good choices vegetarian vegan and gluten free available. Same for breakfast loads of choice. Sadly the weather was awful but that can’t be helped. Dalbeattie is a small town but has everything you need. "
