“Awesome all-inclusive hotel.”

My wife and I went to Cancun for the first time a stayed at Aqua Live and I highly recommend this hotel. The hotel itself was beautiful inside and out. All the waitstaff was very nice and good at their job. We never had to wait for a drink or food. They would even give us tips on new drinks to try. Bottom line is we had a great time and WILL go back to this beautiful hotel...should be rated a 5star.

“Totally relaxing and over the top experience”

My wife and I just came back from our honeymoon at Live Aqua. We spent 7 days there and everyday was just perfect. This hotel goes above and beyond to welcome all of their guests. From the moment you walk in you get a sense of relaxation. They greet you with a hand massage while you're checking in, a real pleasant surprise. We are not hard people to please but we do know and appreciate the little things that come with service. This hotel really steps up their game by hiring the right staff. Aqua's staff seemed like they really enjoyed working for the hotel and it showed in their service. From the doormen, maid service, landscapers, bartenders and wait staff everyone was top notch when it came to satisfying your needs. There was a slight language barrier (as to be expected) but they have trained their staff well on interacting with english speaking tourists and not once did we ever get frustrated with the language barrier. The food at their three restaurants were amazing. We ate at Azur (Mediterranean food) a lot because the food was delicious and because it was only steps away from the pool. Siete (American/ Mexican food) was a great alternative for dinner and especially for their breakfast buffet. MB was their more fancy restaurant that is only open for dinner. MB had a really good menu and every time we went, we were treated like royalty by the wait staff (I personally like MB the most and would recommend everyone to go here more than a couple times during your stay).

Area recommendations

The hotel is located right in the heart of the "Hotel Zone" which means it is extremely accessible to the airport (about 20 min), right in front of "La Isla" mall and about 30 min away from downtown by bus.

Getting around

Definitely take the bus if you are interested in only going up and down the hotel zone area or want to go downtown. It only cost 1 US dollar or about 8 pesos.

“Great for couple get away!”

Very convenient location, 5 stars shopping center is just across the street, taxi rate is standard but very expensive, even short distance, the rate is around us$10, service is the best. But is kind of windy & a bit too cold for this time of year which is Dec. best time is march April .

Cozumel is not far away, there's port 2 hours away from Cancun by driving.

“great relaxing place”

great place with quiet & relaxing atmosphere. if you like to eat a lot, or night life, or have kids and need some activities, then maybe it's not a best place for you. a lot of indoor & outdoor space, a lot of pools, food is delicious and comes in small portions, premium drinks, fresh juices. great for 4-5-6 days, then may be boring

Getting around

take the bus in hotel zone. there is only road, so you cannot get lost on the way to northern end of hotel zone & back, just find nearest bus stop and jump in any route. it's clean, fast, chip. only $8.5 pesos one way. compare to $100 pesos taxi rate.

“Loved this place!”

This has been a great experience using Expedia. We purchased the transportation thru the web site and it was great. The instuctions for finding the transportation were great because it can be a little difficult in the cancun airport. The resort is only a 20 min ride from the airport and only a short ride to downtown. The other reviews mentioned a spa-like atmosphere and it definitely lived up to what we read. The aromatherapy was a nice touch when you walk in. The hotel always smelled good and had a nice zen quality. The adult-only is definitley the way to go- very relaxing and quiet. The food was delicious- particularly Siete for dinner- very upscale mexican cuisine, don't expect burritos and chimichangas. MB was also very good, we never left the resort for food. We recommend the Isla Mujeres trip through the Best Day travel rep. Reasonable price, all-inclusive, great trip. Our one complaint was the spa was a little pricey. We planned on a couples massage but cancelled due to price. Overall, a fantastic trip and we will definitely return!

“OK..... But just OK”

Upon arriving check in was very easy. But as soon as you do, your approached by a hotel employee who pulls you aside and tries to hook you in to a time share presentation and / or sell you a three hour spa visit for two at the low, low price of $480.00. The hotel was very nice, only three resturants to choose from and the food was marginal at best. It's a problem when "room service" has the best food in the hotel. Drinks seemed to be watered down. Other than that, nice hotel but you'll have to go out for any entertainment. Nothing going on at night here. SPA was a nice option for a cloudy afternoon. Overall ok..But just ok

“Highly recommended”

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights in November. Wow! I was amazed in a good way with a quality of service, a hotel upscale design, a personnel friendliness. Everything was very good. Food there was absolutely delicious. I loved having dinner at MB restaurant. No one ever have asked us for tips during our stay in this hotel. The hotel is conveniently situated on the gorgeous beach close to the shopping malls and the main night clubs. It was literally 2 bus stops ($1 per ride) to reach Coco Bongo. Once, we took a walk and decided to get to other hotels to compare – nah! If you like a contemporary style, there is no better place in Cancun than Live Aqua. I was extremely satisfied overall, and my super picky husband too. This hotel is worth every single penny you would pay for it.

“Pay for a BIG room and get a small one.”

We booked a suite for our honeymoon. We ended up with a small room with two full beds for the first two nights. They over booked and we prepaid..... Not FUN!!!
