We felt very welcomed when we checked into 48LEX — the staff member who assisted us was exceptionally pleasant. The hotel’s location is excellent, with easy access to the subway and plenty of nearby food options. We also enjoyed the restaurant attached to the hotel; the breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices. Our room was pleasantly spacious for New York, but unfortunately the air conditioning did not work well. We were told it operates on an environmental sensor that requires movement, which meant the room became too warm at night and made it difficult to sleep, despite the comfortable, firm bed. Additionally, one of the elevators was out of service for the entire weekend, leaving only one operational, which caused delays.

Room cleaning was excellent, except that the pillows were never changed out, and the under sheet that protected the mattress was never changed and was dirty with orange stains stayed for 9 days. Staff were always helpful when needing extra towels and friendly. Air conditioning worked well, but the vent was very dirty, filled with dust. Despite seeing how clean my room was being cleaned, I did end up waking up with bite marks on my legs.

The hotels is in a great location, staff was very nice. Rooms are tiny, bathrooms even tinier anyone above 160lb and 5.8 will barely fit in the shower. Decor and bed were nice though. The walls paper thin, actually can hear full conversations at regular volume of room next door. Overall a good stay but some things can be better in that price range

Definitely wouldn’t consider this a 5 star hotel

Lovely staff, allowed for early check-in and late departure. So courteous and helpful.
