Puerto del Carmen Honeymoon Holidays

Rooms were fairly basic but nice enough. 1 restaurant with same sort of food each day. There’s a pool bar in the day and a bar open in the evening. Not enough loungers by the pool as people leave their towels out from early morning. There are signs saying people can’t do that but no evidence to show anyone was checking. Not enough parasols so most of the beds are in direct sun all day with no shade options

Room and hotel was clean, the all inclusive was basic, food lacked any quality. I'd rather pay more money and have better quality food. The pool bar you had to buy a plastic glass, and if you wanted a fresh pool towel had to pay two euro. However, for the money I would consider staying with the kids again. Just feel the property could do so much better with some investment in the upkeep of the hotel.

The rooms are fabulous and well maintained by the cleaning staff. Shower is powerful and the toiletries are Rituals which are lovely so no need to black shampoo, conditioner, shower gel or body lotion. Mini bar is well stocked and prices are very reasonable. The outside beds on your patio are a lovely touch when you just want a quiet day. Danielle was the star of the show for us. She was everywhere ensuring every one was having a lovely time and checking if breakfast was okay etc. The spa was brilliant and I had 4 treatments while here, Patricia was my favourite therapist. Breakfast gave lots of choice and the restaurant manager was always at hand to ensure that everyone had what they needed. There was a large choice on the buffet with an additional menu for eggs, pancakes and tostadas. The reception staff were brilliant with Mario standing out above the others for his constant smile and positivity, his professionalism and his attention to detail. We dined at La Kentia and all was beautiful. I only wish you could order a side of potatoes or vegetables with the main as there seemed to be something absent from the dishes. We ate here twice and whilst the quality and presentation was second to none, the lack of Vegs or a Carb would make me have to think about another visit. We didn’t eat in the buffet restaurant so can’t comment on that but the menu looked very good. The sunbeds were the best we have ever lain on. The comfort was brilliant! Can’t wait to visit again.

Got recommended this hotel by a family member & what a great recommendation. Until check out that is! I was billed for the use of the safe & queried this as I had paid on check in. The male on the desk asked who had checked me in & I said his colleague beside him. She said yes that’s right but you didn’t pay for safe. I said that I did & she again said I hadn’t. My husband confirmed we had paid it in cash & she had gone into a petty cash tin for change. She said that was incorrect. We were then subjected to 30 minutes of questioning & denial. I then said I would pay it again as we had to leave for the airport. I asked to also speak to the manager. She went & spoke to the manager & retuned saying it’s okay no need to pay it (but you didn’t pay it)! This really tarnished our stay at the hotel. Why would we say we had paid when we hadn’t! Really poor customer service!

Room was very clean, excellent breakfast selection. I was disappointed that there were large renovations going on and some areas were not accessible. It was difficult to find my room, reception staff didn’t explain clearly and I ended up walking around with my heavy luggage looking for my room for a long time. Pool area nice but very noisy with loud music and kids pool instructor shouting loudly most days while swimming with kids. I had to leave the pool area and enjoy the sun on my balcony instead as I’m someone who likes peaceful and quiet environment. Other than that I was happy with the hotel.
