"Everything about this ‘stately home’ hotel states luxury and first class service, from the amazing, unique approach road through a rock bridge, to the extensive landscaped grounds which are a delight to explore and are up to national arboretum standards. The public rooms, many of which have views of the grounds, evoke the splendid history of the house and our bedroom was large, light and airy with an equally large bathroom to match. We enjoyed the dining experience including breakfast in a garden facing room, with very attentive and friendly service at all times. But most of all it was the staff who made our stay extra special. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and that nothing was too much trouble to make our stay perfect. From being met at the door by Will who gave us a fascinating history of the house, to the attention to our every need by Tim and the rest of the team we could not have been better treated if we had been the owner of the hotel. It seems from the many 5* reviews that others have enjoyed the same experience and we agree with all the comments comparing this hotel with other outstanding places around the world. I want to thank everyone involved for making my wife’s 70th birthday a memorable occasion and we can’t wait to return when the opportunity arises. "
