As such, I tend to judge hotels hardly if they can't manage to have a remotely comfortable bed. It's why I can no longer stay at capsule hotels like I could in my youth. So, bearing that in mind, if you are young, fit and can sleep on your back/on a flat, harsh surface, you can add a star to my review and ignore the start. Onto the review. This place was a little confusing. The name of the hotel appears to just be the check in part across the street, the actual hostel has another name and is delightfully retro. It feels like it was built in the 70s, if that. It's a bit run down. There's no elevator. The black on brown doors makes the numbering basically invisible, especially with the dank lighting. It's also one of those places where basic amenities are an extra. That being said, if not for the bed which was hard as a rock, it's fine. The showers work. The door locks work. The internet works. And just a short walk from a main street, a bus stop and a train station. Not too bad. Between the state of the bathrooms alone (but also elsewhere) and the fact those who stay are required to strip the bedding themselves upon checking out, I surmise they have no cleaners. Between that and the very haphazard wiring, scary even, especially in the bathrooms; the vibe isn't great. At the right price, it's fine I suppose.
