"Nice place with a fabulous view of the lake and access to it. It was close to town and main tourist attractions like Te Puia and the pickup location for the Hobbiton Tour. Midge flies don’t bite but they’re a nuisance. If you’re in and around Rotorua there is the smell of sulphur which takes getting used to."
