"This Leonardo is a very good one in terms of the brand. The executive rooms have a varied layout which is a nice element. The bed is very comfortable and you get a nice night's sleep mostly. My recent stay did have music blaring from outside beyond 1am on the Wednesday night but that's the first time I've encountered that in four visits to this hotel. The breakfast choice is in line with what you'd come to expect if you've stayed at any UK Leonardo before.That said, the quality can vary in them but the Sheffield version maintains a high standard every time. The hotel has a nice relaxed vibe in general and the staff are a huge part of creating that. The check-in each time always has a personal feel rather than any sense of it being routine. It sets the right tone and it's maintained throughout any stay."

"You get what you pay for but what there is was decent. Loses a mark for mould marks on shower ceiling but cannot fault rest of hotel. Breakfast very basic but what food there was hot and edible and the bar/restaurant area is lovely."

"The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. We arrived at breakfast after 9am (10am finish) and the hot offering was a bit depleted but there was something of everything except eggs, which a member of staff cooked extra for us. We would definitely stay again."

"Derby Mickleover Hotel has wonderful friendly, helpful and professional staff who offer a warm welcome and constant, friendly enthusiasm to enable one's stay to be a good experience. However their refreshing professionalism and warm manner, is marred by a hotel that has seen grander times. Everywhere, the hotel is looking a bit tired and is in definite need of some investment to its interior and facilities. I have stayed here frequently due to its location, convenience and lovely staff but these professionals deserve a hotel that is current in its fresh interiors and facilities. I have had to call for house keeping or maintenance to assist in rooms I have been booked into, due to malfunctioning facilities or because I have found unacceptable large areas of black mould growing on bathroom ceilings for example. I have stayed in a lot of this hotel's rooms and in all price ranges. It is disappointing to see and stay at such a hotel with enormous potential; when a lick of fresh paint or replacement of tired facilities or a more rigorous upkeep of rooms with investment, enabling staff to not only perform day to day house keeping but more deep cleaning. Proper investment to provide updating and thorough maintenance of the wider hotel picture and infrastructure, would once again allow this hotel to shine as a luxury hotel if character. "The staff worked very hard in every way. The hotel itself, probably due to age, needs attention re decor and sash windows which are draughty. I felt there were building restrictions making things difficult for updating. Dinner choices were excellent. "
