We chose this hotel as a base to visit surrounding areas and for a return flight from Belfast City airport. So I was pleasantly surprised to find it was excellent. Walking into the reception area you find a lovely wooden spiral staircase.
The rooms were spacious and our window looked over to the sea. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was also ample wardrobe space. The bathroom had the usual toiletries with a large walk-in shower. Everything was clean, four fluffy towels and two...

This is not our first visit to the salty dog, we usually travel with our Westie Iona who is treated like a vip here. So when travelling without her we didn’t hesitate to book again. The rooms are all different with a personally to suit their shape and position in the hotel. They are clean and comfortable. The team from breakfast through to bed time a warm friendly and keen to do what ever it takes to make your stay perfect. Such a relaxed and welcoming environment. The breakfast is fresh and...

A friendly comfortable upmarket hotel with a very reasonable room rate. The Bar even stocks local Craft bottled beers from FARMAGGEDON, just 8 miles up the road.

Such a wonderful local gem! Excellent value for money, the room was impeccably clean, modern, and super cozy. Carol was a fantastic host who couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat!

Very comfortable hotel, although with our large rooms having a sea view we also realised we very looking out onto the coast road which was very busy. We had dinner at the hotel which was very pleasant, but possibly with it being a Sunday evening a few things were unavailable on the dessert menu.

Great hotel, great staff, great location. Only let down is the parking. Value parkings definition of 24hrs is "after midnight". So I you park at 11pm and pick your car up at 8am the next day.... boom....£17 with hotel discount. If The Flint negotiated a better deal for drivers using the car park, this hotel would beat all others.
It's an amazing place to stay and feels like a home from home.

Excellent hotel in an ideal location for access to most of Northern Ireland.
Arrived off the ferry late to be met at reception with a smile and help to my room.
The staff were brilliant and couldn’t do enough for you, from reception to the restaurant was first class.
The food is well prepared and the portions are large, including the Ulster breakfast, which I struggled to finish.
Room was spotless, with everything you needed in it without having to ask for anything and internet was available...

My partner and I had a wonderful stay here. It was ideal as we landed at George best airport and it was only a short drive away. We were greeted at the front desk by this lovely gentleman who made us feel more than welcome. Helped us with where to get food despite the late hour. He even stored my partners insulin in the fridge somewhere safe. The beds were very comfortable and we had no disturbances all night. Highly recommend!!

The best area to stay in Whitehead is along the main street, Edward Road, and its immediate surrounding streets, which offers convenient access to the town's key attractions.
This central area is the heart of Whitehead, known for its traditional seaside charm. Edward Road is lined with local shops, cafes, and eateries, creating a pleasant atmosphere for a stroll. It's also where you'll find the Whitehead Railway Museum, a popular attraction, and it leads directly down to the promenade and the seafront. The layout is compact and easy to navigate on foot.
Couples looking for a relaxing coastal getaway will find this area particularly appealing. You're just a short walk from the scenic Blackhead Path, which offers stunning views of the Antrim Coast and Belfast Lough. Evenings can be spent enjoying a meal at a local restaurant or a quiet drink in a pub, all within easy reach of your accommodation.
Families will also appreciate the convenience of staying in this central location. The promenade and beachfront are easily kid-friendly to play, and the proximity to the railway museum provides an engaging activity for all ages.
