"The location was great right in front of the park where the paragliders land and with a view of the snow capped mountains. Fifteen minutes walk from both interlaken east and west stations. Halal food places nearby. Inside the hotel looked nice and clean though the rooms were very basic. The front of the building however looked awful...really run down and I was shocked when I saw it. The photos on the listing only show the building at night in the dark with lights on so you can't really tell. It's a shame because it really lets the hotel down. Also the breakfast buffet had very limited options considering it wasn't a cheap hotel. I was quite disappointed because I had expected more."

You’ll find a cluster of four-star hotels in Schonegg, near the railway station, while a number of three-star hotels are on Galliweidli , slightly further from the railway and ski lifts. Getting Around in Wengen

In winter, this area offers excellent family-friendly ski slopes, and plenty of well-marked trails to explore during the warmer months. From the Kleine Scheideg railway station, you could take the famous Jungfraubahn, with views of glaciers glimpsed through the windows of the four-mile tunnel, and book a tour to the Jungfrau.
Special Events in Wengen
Each September, Wengen celebrates the Jungfrau Marathon, where ambitious athletes run up around 6,500 feet. Though far from the world's largest marathon, the scenery is certainly hard to beat and the atmosphere with crowds cheering on the runners is great fun. Classical music lovers should also consider visiting during the Mendelssohn Music Week in August, when Wengen holds concerts of many of the world's leading musicians.
