Did not realise how close to the road the hotel was. Our room was so noisy from the traffic. Asked to be moved but the hotel was full. Spent an unpleasant 1st night at hotel. The next day we were moved to a room at the rear of the Hotel overlooking the garden. It seemed like a completely different ...

Warwickshire, with its grand country mansions, striking medieval landmarks and picture-perfect historic towns and villages, is just the ticket for couples looking for an unforgettable romantic getaway.
This majestic Norman castle became an exclusive mansion by the 17th Century, and has many fascinating exhibitions illustrating the town's profound medieval heritage and the Norman influence on England. Warwick is also home to picturesque St. Nicholas' Park, the Mill Garden and Hill Close Gardens, and is also noted for its striking 11th century Collegiate Church of St. Mary. All of these make a wonderfully picturesque backdrop for a getaway with someone special. The town also has plenty of restaurants and historic inns, and a great range of romantic hotels that are perfect for romantic escapes.
On April 26th 1564, a child who would grow to become the most influential and celebrated figure in English literature was born at a half-timbered house in Stratford-upon-Avon. William Shakespeare brought us that most romantic of ‘doomed love’ stories – Romeo and Juliet, as well as plenty of other boy-meets-girl tales. If you're looking for romantic hotels where you can create your own love story, you could book a stay at the exquisite Macdonald Alveston Manor Hotel or the elegant Tudor-style Falcon Hotel.
Royal Leamington Spa is acclaimed for its attractive Regency architecture and handsome high street. A prestigious retreat for many wealthy Londoners following the opening of the railways in the Victorian era, it's home to the historic Royal Pump Rooms, which was the most popular spa bath, and is now the location of the town's museum and art gallery. Like Warwick, it also has plenty of romantic hotels and stylish restaurants and cafés for couples who want to relax, or even treat themselves to a little spa pampering!
Warwickshire is renowned for Charlecote Park, a 16th century country mansion, and Ragley Hall, an equally impressive Palladian house. The county also features the deluxe Mercure Warwickshire Walton Hall & Spa, a four star retreat offering a luxury spa and refined, spacious accommodation overlooking attractive landscaped grounds – perfect for that romantic evening stroll.
