Cromwell's Tap House

"The room was clean, fresh bedding on bed, tea/coffee available in room. We only saw 1 member of staff who showed us our room, she was friendly. We didn't use the bar. We only stayed 1 night. The only issue was the shower leaked but it is a 15th century building which slanted in each room. The music from the bar cut off at 10pm. We did sleep well."

"This Hotel suits those that like a heritage type place with character but more of a lived in feel . If you like fresh fittings and everything polished it’s not for you . However once you realise that the site photos were taken when it was back in the day and not reflective of today it’s a nice place to be . The receptionists who also help with bar and meal serving were lovely and the breakfast host too. It’s been taken over after previous owners run it down and will take time and money to restore so I would support them to enable that cash to come through . Good gym and great pool etc with friendly staff . Would use again but would not suit my wife ."

"First impressions when i parked up and looked at the building was that it looked tired and in need of some tlc, when entering the reception area it was immaculately clean and bright with welcoming friendly helpful staff. Walking to my room i was impressed by the dining area and bar. My room was spotless and very comfortable with the best blackout curtains. Very impressed with the room but a personal preference would have been to be on the first floor. All the staff were excellent and the breakfast was exceptional. I will definately stay again and hopefully enjoy just as much."

"What a lovely hotel, everything was excellent. The only issue we had was being told by 2 members of staff that the kitchen closed at 9pm but when i went down to place a food order at 8.45pm i was told the kitchen had already closed at 8.30pm as it was a Sunday. Breakfast was fantastic and an added bonus as included within the price. Would not hesitate to stay here again if we are in the area."

"Brilliant staff and super clean, comfortable room. The breakfast is in a fancy wee hamper in your room and there is plenty of choice. OJ and milk in the fridge. Very short walk into the town for a restaurant and a Tesco express too."
