This motel was really clean and cosy. Two super cosy beds to sleep in and a spotless bathroom. The amenities the room had were perfectly adequate for us for our 1 night stay. It was easy to find and we would recommend it others.

We absolutely loved our stay here.
Margaret upgraded us to a self contained apartment and it was so quirky and fun. The apartment was so comfortable and Margaret couldn’t do enough for us.
Breakfast was delicious in the main house and we enjoyed chatting to Margaret whilst eating.
The house itself was absolutely stunning.
We would most definately come back and stay with Margaret again.

Small, historic B&B in a good location. Phenomenal breakfast, hot choices are freshly cooked, lots of fruit, yoghurt, cereal, jams etc. Richard and Thomas are friendly, helpful hosts.
The queen room does have a tiny bathroom with a step up to enter, but works fine. It also has a small roof light with no curtain/blind so if light disturbs you, you may want an eyemask

The Salt Shaker is more a restaurant with four rooms than a hotel. We originally booked for one night but then asked for two. We had to change rooms for the second night but the Salt Shaker team sorted that for us. Both rooms were lovely, bright and clean decor. And the beds were so comfy. We also ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Tasty fish stew and lovely lobster rolls. It was very busy but no one appeared to be stressed. If they were then they didn't let it show! The best areas to stay in Upper Blandford are along the scenic Aspotogan Peninsula, particularly near the communities of Blandford and Bayswater.
These areas offer a tranquil coastal experience with direct access to the sea and stunning views. You'll find a scattering of holiday homes and a few boutique accommodations, often located amongst the trees or overlooking the water. The main coastal road, Route 329, connects these small communities and provides easy access to various coves and beaches.
For couples seeking a quiet retreat, staying in a secluded cottage or boutique hotel near Bayswater Beach Provincial Park is an excellent choice. This allows for relaxing days by the ocean, exploring local walking trails, and enjoying the natural beauty of the Nova Scotian coastline. The pace of life here is slow, superb for unwinding.
Families often find accommodations closer to the village of Blandford appealing due to the slightly larger selection of holiday rentals, many of which are well-equipped with amenities for longer stays.
